health care. Our conversa-
tions were hopeful as we
assured them that Irene
is concerned about their
needsand not putting big
business or special interests
first.
Irene is a woman who hon-
estly cares about others. Ask
her family, neighbors, stu-
dents, or the people she has
spoken to as she knocks on
doors throughout the district
She and her supporters have
knocked on over 5,000 doors
to date and have a very good
idea of what people want and
need.
This experience has
strengthened my belief that
a grassroots effort based on
respectful, personal interac-
tions and exchanges with our
neighbors is not only a good
way to run a campaign, but
also a good way for all of us
to build strong relationships
with eachother.
Please join me in voting for
Irene Bowling, a true Demo-
cratic representative of the
people, for the Washington
State Senate.

refers to items a "donation."

the Journal's reporting of
undeveloped avenue in the
Plat of Detroit 2. Looking for
Atwater on a map would be
fruitless. More specifically,
the land fronts Grapeview
Loop Road on the west side
from the intersection of Trea-
sure Island Road, southward
in 1890 and includes many
streets, avenues and alleys,
most of them not charted on
a map. For the record, Grape-
view Loop Road in the Plat
of Detroit 2 is labeled "5th
street "
I purchased the land over
many years starting in 1972.
I have had'that parcel in my
living trust to be bequeathed
to the Port of Grapeview after
I pass. I thought it better to
transfer the ownership dur-
the land to ensure it re-
mained open space and I am
certain that the port will put
it to good use for the public.

Editor, the Journal
I appreciated the excellent
article that Gordon Weeks
did about Quixote Village
recently demonstrating what
a tiny house community for
look like in Shelton. I also
very much appreciated the
Journal's strong editorial
support for moving forward
with the village. I just wanted
to add that we wouldn't have
this wonderful opportunity
without the lion-hearted ef-
forts and support of two folks,
in particular: state Sen. Tim
Sheldon worked determinedly
to make sure there would be
money in the capital budget
for this important demon-
stration project. And 16cal
veterans advocate Tom Davis
has been tireless in his efforts
to make this dream of the
Shelton Veterans Village a
concrete reality.
