ge Water
Q
Shelton residents may find
their water bills different than
usual next month'when the city
changes times of reading water
meters. Public Works Supt. Bob
Temple told the city commission
Tuesday.
Temple said the city is going
to read the meters straight
through instead of staggering the
reading time.
Some bills may be a little
larger and some a little smaller
than normal for the next two
billings, Temple said.
He said another change will be
that the water bills will all be sent
out at one time rather than on
different days as has been done in
the past.
Another benefit, Temple said,
would be that there would be no
meter reading in January, when
the worst weather of the winter
usually occurs•
The city reads meters every
two months.
The changes are being made,
Temple said, to improve the city's
meter reading and billing
procedures.

County Told About
Hunting Ban Rules
The county commission does
not have the authority to close an
area to hunting, but, can close it
to discharge of firearms, the
commissioners were told Monday
by Game Protector AI Rasmussen.
The commission had asked
Rasmussen to present some
information to them on hunting
closures after receiving a request
from the residents ot Shorecrcst
in the Agate area that that area bE
closed to hunting.
Rasmussen said the State
Game Department is the only
group which has the authority to
close an area to hunting, and, it is
against their policy to close a
small area such as Shorecrest.
lie stated while the county
commission did have the
authority to close an area to
discharge of fireamrs, it would be
ahnost impossible for the sheriff's
office to enforce such a closure.
The commission requested the
clerk to write the Shorecrest
group stating the information
which had been given by
Rasmussen.
