VFW Honors
Dinner Guests
Honored at a dinner at 6 p.m.
Friday in the Memorial hall were
Gold Star Parents Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Herz, Mr. and Mrs.
William Batchelor, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Schuffenhauer, Mrs.
Hatchings, Grace Sylvester, Loda
Rutledge, Gladys Shanks,
Josephine Cole, Jessie Jones,
August Twohy, Lula Gunter and
Mrs. George Eads. Hosts and
hostesses were the Mason County
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
No. 1694 and auxiliary.
Potluck was served to
approximately 60 members and
guests, and gifts were presented to
the Gold Star mothers. Slides of
Japan were shown by Mrs. James
Yoshihara.
A dinner for all past auxiliary
presidents will be held in the
Smoke Shop in Aberdeen at 7
p.m. on Wednesday. Those
wishing to attend should contact
Fae Robinson at 426-4167.
On September 11,85 patients
in Western State Hospital were
given a party by VFW auxiliary
members Betty Godwin, Frances
Magruder, and Sue Eatham, who
served coffee and cake and
supervised games.

Childrens' Orthopedic Hospital in
Seattle will speak at 1:30 p.m. on
October 7 in the United
Methodist Church. All guild and
auxiliary members are invited to
attend, and the meetilag will also

Baby-sitting service will be
furnished.
Golden Age Meets
The Golden Age Club will
meet at 6 p.m. today for a
potluck supper followed by an
evening of music, dancing and
card games.

United in marriage on the
morning of September 12, during
a Nuptial Mass celebrated in St.
Edwards Catholic Church in
Shelton were Miss Linda Joyce
LaBissoniere and Clark K.
(Corky) Frady. More than 200
guests attended the double ring
ceremony for which bronze and
yellow chrysanthemums and
yellow gladioli provided the floral
decor.
The bride, daughter of Mrs.
Leslie J. LaBissoniere and the late
Mr. LaBissoniere, is a graduate of
Shelton lfigh School and attended
Western Washington State
College. She is employed by
Pacific Northwest Bell as is the
bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clark Frady of Olympia. A
graduate of North Thurston ttigh
David Ray Guild
Meets In Union
The David Ray Orthopedic
Guild held their regular meeting at
8 p.m. on September 16 in the
Union home of their president,
Anna Graham.
A bake sale is planned for
October 24, and will take place at
Ball's Food Center in Union from
l0 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Jayettes To Meet
]'he Shelton Jayettes will
meet at 8 p.m. today in the home
of Mrs. John Tarrant with Mrs.

Allen LaBissoniere gave his
niece in marriage. She wore a full
skirted gown of white voile

overlaid with love knots. The
fitted satin bodice was set off by
billowly Juliet sleeves and a deep
cut yoke of voile accented with
satin shirt collar and satin covered
buttons. A Juliet cap of voile also
overlaid with love knots held a
chapel length veil of silk illusion.
For something old, she carried her
father's rosary with a bridal
bouquet of white carnations and
yellow rosebuds.
Mrs. Denton Bailey, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor.
She wore floor length yellow
sleeveless linen with venice lace
forming a standup collar and
accenting the front of the bodice
set off by a tailored bow. A
headpiece of corded ribbon loops
and delicate yellow blossoms
nestled in her hair. She carried
bronze and yellow
chrysanthemums with green
velvet brocaded ribbon.
Identically attired were the
bridesmaids, Miss Carolyn Chapin,
Miss Carla Daily and Miss Su Ann
Anderson.
The groom selected as his best
man Don Whitman. Seating the
guests were Jon Lohrer, Chuck
Frady and Alan Parker.

Tours Seattle
In lieu of a regular social
meeting for Beta Zeta Chapter,
E.S.A on September 12, Mrs. Ken
Evans arranged a tour of Seattle's
waterfront and the
"Underground" tour.
Making the ferry trip were
Mesdames Harry Peterson, Glen
Miller, Ken Evans, Gene White,
Glenn Sowers, Ky Wilson, Ed
Campbell, Jim MacNamara, Tom
Ogden and Lucille Latham, who
lunched at the Farmer's Market
and dined in Bremerton on the
return trip.
The next scheduled meeting
will be a progressive dinner on
October 14.
