Resic ent Marries In Bremerton
United Methodist Mr. and Mrs. John G. Lentz,
Bremerton was former residents of Shelton now
lavender and residing in Bremenon. The groom

lace-petaled flower.
The bridesmaids, Mrs. Milton
Densley (cousin of the bride),
Mrs. Elsie Cole, and Mrs. Terry
McMackin wore long lavender lace
dresses over matching lavender
taffeta. Gowns and headpieces
were styled like those of the maid
of honor.
The cousin of the groom, John
Marshall, served as best man.
Ushers were Gaylord Reddick,
Tom Coulter, and Larry Johnson,
brother-in-law of the groom. The
vocalist was Miss Frances
Sturdivant who sang, "A Time
For Us."
The bride's mother was dressed
in blue crepe with a matching lace
coat. Her hat and shoes were a
deeper shade of blue, and her
corsage was fashioned of pink
roses and carnations. The mother
of the bridegroom wore a gold
knit dress with a brown jacket,
hat, and shoes. Yellow roses and
carnations made up her corsage.
At the reception in the church
foyer, the receiving line stood
before a background of lavender
net with lavender, white, and
purple ribbons. The three-tiered
banana flavored wedding cake was
baked by the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Joe Reynolds
of Tacoma. Six heart-shaped
cakes surrounded the base, and
the cake was decorated with
lavender and white roses and
figurines of bride and groom.
Serving were Mrs. Larry
Johnson (sister of the groom),
Mrs. John Marshall, Mrs. Dennis
Temple, Mrs. Gerald Mallory,
Miss Barbara Smith, Miss Marilyn
Raynor, Mrs. James Marshall, Mrs.
Paul Bixby, Mrs. Robert Temple,
and Mrs. Charles Stilson.
Mrs. Donna Pratt was in charge
of the guest book, and the gift
table was attended by Miss Kathy
Ott and Mrs. Donna Pratt.
Four generations were
represented at the wedding - the
bride; her mother; her
grandmother, Mrs. Joe Reynolds;
and her great-grandmother, Mrs.
Clara Shevland.

First Meeting Of
New Season For
Grapeview Guild
The Sarah Eckert Guild of
Grapeview held its first meeting
of the season last Thursday at the
home of Charter member Mrs.
C. R. Uhly in Olympia.
New officers presiding were
Mrs. L. E. Souse, president; Mrs.
E. P. Bartolat, secretary; and Mrs.
A. O. Rindal, treasurer.
In addition to organization of
this year's committees, plans were
made and work begun in
preparation for the chapter's
annual Country Store, to be held
in two months.
Open House To
Honor Brickerts
An Open House honoring Mr.
and Mrs. Wendell H. Brickert will
be held between the hours of 2
p.m. and $ p.m. on Sunday in
their home at 1702 Pioneer Way.
Hosting the event will be Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Brickert.
Bridge Club
Names Winners
The Shelton Duplicate Bridge
Club winners in the Monday night
game, with eight tables in play,
were for North-South: Kay
Jackson and Elsa Schlosser, Jane
Bennett and Louise Umphenour,
Bob Quimby and Dexter Edge.
East-West winners were Mr. and
Mrs. Karl Matz, Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Christy, Vic King and Rex
Umphenour.
The Shelton Bridge Club meets
every Monday at 7:15 p.m. in the
PUD building. All bridge players
are welcome.

Lime green and white
chrysanthemums and gladioli
decorated the United Methodist
Church for the double ring
ceremony uniting Miss Julie
Tharp and Michael Carper on
September 12 at 8 p.m. The Rev.
Horace Mounts officiated and the
bride was given in marriage by her
father in the presence of 275
guests.
The parents of the bride are
Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Tharp of Port
Orchard, and the groom's parents
are Mrs. Dale Yost of Shelton and
Mr. Fred Carper, Santos, Brazil.
The bride's gown was of satin
peau de sole, with a lace mantilla
caught m a pearl tiara. Her
bouquet was composed of
chrysanthemums and stephanotis
with an orchid corsage center.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Thomas White, sister of the bride.
The bridesmaids were Miss Paula
Brock and Mrs. Jerry Vanden Bos,
and the flower girl was Miss Caron
White. All wore pale green
dresses. The matron of honor and
bridesmaids carried bouquets of
daisies and the flower girl held a
nosegay of chrysanthemums.
Joseph Tharp was ring bearer
and candles were lighted by Mi
Lori Yost, sister of the groom,
who also wore pale green. The
groom's brother, Mitchell Yost,
was best man, and ushers were
Rand Stevens, Lawrence Craig,
and Dennis McKeown. Music was
by Gary Bankes, organist, and Dr.
Ted Turner of Olympic College,
vocalist. During the ceremony a
duet, "One Hand, One Heart,"
was sung by the bride and groom.
Pale green crepe with sequin
trim and matching hat was the
choice of the bride's mother,
while the mother of the
bridegroom dressed in brown with
brown accessories. Both ladies
wore yellow chrysanthemum
corsages.
Serving at the reception
following the ceremony were Mrs.
Dennis McKeown, sister of the
groom; Mrs. Sylvia Blades; Miss
Merrilyn Mills; and Mrs. Fred
Tharp, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bride, who is Queen of
Job's Daughters, is now majoring
in English at Central Washington

College of Education. The groom,
a graduate of Shelton ttigh School
where he was prominent in
athletics and music, is majoring in
music at CWCE.
After a wedding trip to Stetson
Beach, they will make their home
in Ellensburg.
World War Vets
To Hold Potluck
World War [ Veterans and
Auxiliary Madrona Barracks 1462
of Shelton will hold their regular
monthly meeting on October 2 at
the Memorial Hall.
There will be a potluck
luncheon at noon followed by
entertainment, after which the
business meeting will be held.

hold its annual smorgasbord
Sunday in the Belfair Masonic
Temple from 12:30 p.m. to 5

Veterans of World War I and
auxiliary 2778 will be held
October 5 at the Masonic Lodge
in Belfair following a potluck
lunch at 12:30 p.m. Officers will
