4-H NEWS
Alexis Kuhr
New 4-H Club
A new 4-H club for boys is
organizing in the Dayton area
under the leadership of Gail
Edmiston. All interested boys
may attend the meeting to be
held at 7 p.m. next Thursday in
the Don Edmiston home. Further
information is available by calling
426-1390.
Activities will include a
horseback drill team, practice for
future "Little Britches" rodeos,
work at halter, western pleasure
equitation, trail rides and general
horsemanship.
Roping clinic
set for Saturday
An elementary roping clinic
instructed by Bill Brown and
sponsored by the Evergreen
Riders 4-H Club will be held at l
p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds.
All persons interested in basic
elements of handling the lariat
may attend whether or not they
are 4-H members. Adults are
welcome.

High School student body, Alexis
heads the student senate. She
edits the Highclimber and holds
membership in Girls Club, Z Club
and Latin Club, where she served
last year as treasurer.
She is active in Walther
League of Mt. Olive Lutheran
Church. She is a member and
former president of the Pizzicato
Junior Music Club and president
of the Washington State Junior
Music Club Association. She is a
flutist.
As a, Shelton High School
senior she studies civics, band,
forensics, basic art and
journalism, with art as a favorite.
She will attend college and hopes
for a career in law.
While baton twirling is her
main hobby, the flute is a close
second.
"1 have many hobbies," she
declares. "1 like tennis, swimming
and all outdoor sports."

auditorium.

members Lloyd and Teena Gates
among the 45 persons present.
