Hospital personnel all receive training in emergency fire pro:edures. Knowing fire prevention techniques also assire carefree recreation in boats and Campers. Your firrmen want to help you prevent fire, give them a call ifyou have any questions. * Keep matches and lighters out of reach of children. Instruct them in the danger of these items. * Handle hot liquids with extra care. Keep pot handles turned away from the edge of the stove. Cook with minimum quantities of water. * When relighting pilot lights or gas burners that have been accidentally blown out, ventilate thoroughly, read instructions, then light match. * Don't use benzene, naphtha, gasoline or carbon tet for cleaning purposes. * Read instructions carefully when using starter fluids. Don't "pep" wood or charcoal fires with kerosene or gasoline. * Don't refuel a hot or running engine. Refuel outdoors. * Use only safety cans to carry or store gasoline, not plastic or glass jugs. Store fuel in a safe place and avoid spillage. Do not smoke when refueling. Remember, fire prevention starts with good housekeeping, replacing frayed electrical cords and avoiding overloading lines, and proper servicing and cleaning of furnaces and chimneys.
