Shelton sophomore Cody Williamson - who runs cross country and track for the Highclimbers and is also a Shelton Harrier - covered the 5,000 meter course in 16:21.55. "We had great support from the running communi- ty with 101 finishers - equal to last year, including a doz- en youngsters 14 and un- der," organizer John John- son said. "We had perfect conditions for running. We had lots of great volunteer help to make it possible." SHS senior Skylar Core worked as co-organizer of the event as his senior proj- ect. Core, the boys' team captain of the Highclimber cross country team, said the event is getting more and more popular each year. Trailing behind William- son were Ben Crabtree - who finished in second place with a time of 17:50.55 and as the number one male in the 25 to 29 age age group - and Robert Larribas - who finished in third place with a time of 17:54.78. The fourth and fifth place finishers were also the first and second place finishers in the male 50 to 54 age group. Jay Strickland finished with a time of 18:16.14 while Scott Clayton finished with a time of 19:11.14. The top finisher in the male 35 to 39 age group was Erik Heimann in seventh place overall with a time of 19:46.11 while the top fin- isher in the male 30 to 34 age group was Casey Black with a time of 19:58.24. For the male 40 to 44 age group, the top finisher was Mark Buck in 11th place overall with a time of 21:42.68 while the top fin- isher for the male 45 to 49 age group was Ben Johnson with a time of 22:07.58. Finishing first for the male 55 to 59 age group was Lonnie Clark in 14th place overall with a time of 22:21.14. Eleven-year-old William Johnson was the top finish- er for the 14 and under age group in 15th place overall with a time of 22:31.68. The first woman to cross the finish line was Sarah Yardley in 16th place with a time of 22:36.52. She was the top finisher for the 25 to 29 age group. Bruce Galvin, 63, was the top finisher for the 60 to 64 age group in 18th place overall with a time of 23:04.55. Jenna Kelly, in 20th place overall, was the sec- ond woman to finish and the first in the 40 to 44 age group with a time of 23:43.08. The top female finisher for the 55 to 59 age group was Val Wittenberg in 26th place overall with a time of 25:07.43. The first woman in the 30 to 34 age group to fin- ish was Stacie Giraldes in 28th place with a time of 25:50.14. Finally, for the female 14 and under age group, 9-year-old Raegen Henry finished the fastest in 71st place overall with a time of 35:40.18.
