She was ‘ born February 5, 1941, to Melchoir and Theresia Wagner in Linton, North Dakota and was the yéungest of nine children. Shirley spent the majority of her life in Wyoming living in Buffalo and moving to Sheridan Wyoming after the death of her husband, Garris Gro- ver in 1992. She worked for Safeway for 25 years and Ace Hardware/Ben Franklin for 12 years until she re— tired for the second time. She moved to Shelton, Washington, in 2015, to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed gardening and spend- ing time working out in her yard. She also quilted and made many beauti- ful pieces that her family treasures. She loved talking to neighbors and friends and participating in activities where she resided. Her dog Mia provided love and constant companionship for the past 11 years. She found comfort at church as a member of Faith Lutheran in Shelton. Shirley is survived by her sister Lee Burcham; her son Leigh Bral- ey and wife Shawna; her daughter Tonya Youngquist and husband Chad; and her four grandchildren, Ashlyn Braley, Preston Braley, Ryan Youngquist and Tyler Youngquist. All of whom she loved and touched deeply. A memorial service was held on October 5, 2021, at Faith Lutheran t in Shelton, Washington. Roberta Lynn Scanlon (Smith) Roberta Lynn Scanlon (Smith) passed away at home in Tumwater on September 25, 2021. She was 55. Roberta was born to Bobby W. and Marcia J. Smith (Ford) on January 8, 1966, in Shelton 'WA. Roberta was a loving daughter, mother, grandmoth- er, aunt, sister and friend. Roberta graduated from Shelton High School in 1984. She went on to Community College at Clover Park and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked several jobs in the Olympia area throughout the years. She loved to COOk, bake, sing and do Karaoke along with rooting for her Seahawks. Her favorite was to spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren Ryan Alexander, Mys- taya Maria and Xander. Roberta is preceded in death by her father, Bobby W. Smith; her mother Marcia J. Smith; her sister Angela Rose Decicio and her sister DeeAnn Teresa Elquero (Decicio). Roberta is survived by her children Joshua Ryan Smith of Bremer- ton, Brittany Renee Smith of Olympia, Michael Joseph Scanlon of Spokane and Nicholas Tyler Scanlon- of Lacey and her long—time part- ner Michael Marsh of Tumwater. She is also survived by her brothers, Irvin C. Decicio Jr. (Butch) of Ken‘newick, Dino D. Decicio of Shelton, Victor J. Decicio of Olympia, sisters, Victoria G. Decicio of Auburn and Annette D. Rogers (Decicio) of Kelso. Additionally, she leaves sev— eral cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. \ She will be missed by all. There is no service at this time. He was born and raised in. Olympia, WA, and recently was a resident of Shelton. He was loved by his mother and father, Mimi and Gary. He was loved by his broth- ers Erik (Jamie) and Kyle (Amanda). He was loved by a whole community of people who helped raise, teach and care for him. Those who loved him will miss him. We were all fortunate to have known Luke and are all the better for his existence. A funeral service will be held for Luke at St. Michael Catholic Church - Downtown in Olympia on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 12 noon. If you wish, donations in his memory may be made to South Puget Sound Up with Down Syndrome, PO. Box 5422, Lacey, WA 98509. Beverly L. Burbridge 1928-2021 \ Beverly L. (Ruth) Burbridge, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her Shelton home on September 27, 2021. Beverly was born in Peoria, AZ, in 1928, to William Ruth (Mari- copa County deputy) and Nellie James (from Oklahoma) who was a second cousin to Jesse James. Beverly was always proud to be related to George Herman (Babe) Ruth. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School and married Raymond Clyde McCally. Beverly later moved to San Francisco with her three—year old son, Raymond Earl McCally. In '1959, she met and married Robert L Burbridge, U.S. Navy veter- an, and professional race car driver. After the birth of Robert (Robbie) D. Burbridge, the family of four relocated to Agana Guam following Robert’s military orders. The U.S. Navy returned Beverly’s family to the states and was stationed in San Diego, CA. Beverly and Robert later moved to Port Hueneme Seabee Base near Oxnard, CA. Where Robert was reassigned and stayed there until his retirement from the U.S. Navy. Both of Beverly’s sons went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Beverly held an array of different jobs during her lifetime. She was employed as a soda jerk, telephOne operator for Bell Telephone,'a sec— retary for the Arizona Highway Department, Civil Service employee, bookkeeper/ accountant, and hotel receptionist, of which she truly enjoyed. Eventually, Robert and Beverly relocated to the Puget Sound area to be close to their grandchildren. ' Beverly was an avid seamstress, quilter, and member of Christmas Town Quilters as well as a member of the California Cling Peach Advisory Board. She was passionate about ensuring all Mason General Hospital newborn babies leave with their first quilt. She was a staunch supporter and fan of the Shelton High Climbers, members of the mili— tary, the USO, law enforcement, postal workers, and the fire service. Beverly is preceded in death by her brother E. Wayne Ruth and her husband Robert (Bob) Burbridge. She is survived by her sons Ray (Trish) and Robbie (Jill), her three grandchildren Kyle, Kasey, and Karli, and her great-grandson Bronson, who was a special bright star in her life. Her surrogate family Matthew Knotegen and Julie Koop entered her life and were always loved and welcomed. Beverly’s faith- ful companion and always present K—9 partner ‘Mr. Lou’, guarded her, helped her finish her meals, and loved her to the end. Always our Queen Bee, the family of Beverly wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Carlos Rubio—Reyes for providing hospice care.
