My choice is
Beth Doglio
Editor, the Journal,
Last Wednesday, the Mason
County Democrats had a town hall
style candidates’ night that featured
two fine and Well-spoken Democratic
candidates, Beth Doglio and Marilyn
Strickland, who are running for the
10th Congressional District seat that
Denny Heck is retiring from. Both
candidates gave a short presentation
about their platforms and‘answered
questions from voters.
I’m voting for Beth Doglio because
she is more progressive when dealing
with climate change, health care, and
workers’ safety and wages.
With regards to climate change,
we have witnessed an alarming in—
crease in devastating droughts, wild-
fires and storms. With the wildfires
and hurricanes we’ve seen thus far
in the U.S. this year alone, I don’t
think Mother Earth could scream
any louder that we’re going to have
to be more aggressive in combating
Affordable, quality care
is more important than ever

climate change. And I believe that
Beth understands the urgency and is
ready to take necessary steps toward
enacting legislation that will accom-
plish this.
And when it comes to health care
and issues that are important to
workers, Beth has spent her entire ‘
career improving the lives of working
people. She helped pass the ground-
breaking Paid Family and Medical
Leave Act, and co-sponsored bills to
make health insurance and prescrip-
tion drugs more affordable.
Meanwhile, Marilyn Strickland
has consistently gone to bat for big
business. This might explain why
the Pierce County Democrats have
endorsed Beth Doglio even though
Marilyn was Tacoma’s mayor for two
terms.
Beth Doglio has proven herself as
an effective legislator and deserves
our vote.

China has influenced the 2020 elec-
tion by failing to contain COVID-19.
The vote is now between compassion

Former Vice President Joe Biden,
based on his medical history, is in the
1% of the population who is vulner-
able to death from the China virus.
The future of our country rests on
voting for the best vice presidential ,
candidate.
President Trump will beat the vi—
rus. He is in the 99% survival catego-
ry since his medical history is almost
perfect. ’
First let’s take a look at Sen. Ka-
mala Harris whose actions reflect a
person who did not hesitate to per-
sonally attack, with malice intended
vitriol a Supreme Court nominee. She
even obstructed negotiations with a
theatrical walkout.
Harris shamefully obstructs the
rule of law by supporting bailout
funding for destructive rioters who
target police. Billions of dollars of
damage to American business has re-
sulted from rioters.
Vice President Pence represents
on-the-job experience and a faith
of compassion. Your vote matters.
Choose wisely.
