Jud delays
decision
Judge Robert Doran withheld
a decision on a request by John
Vonhof and Richard Adams for
early release from a county jail
sentence. He asked Deputy
Prosecutor Gary Bufleson and
Defense Attorney Ed Holm to
submit briefs on the question as
to whether or not the court had
the authority to change a
sentence once it had been
imposed.
Vonhof and Adams were
sentenced to a year in the county
jail with six months suspended on
charges of third degree assault.
They have both started
serving their sentences after an
appeals court upheld the Superior
Court case.
Holm told the court that the
two men had been in no further
trouble since they were convicted
and that Adams has spent time
successfully in a drug
rehabilitation program on another
charge.
