On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the Lady Highclimbers lost at Olympia in three games 5-25, 15-25 and 12-25. "Olympia is very good," Steve Beck, head coach, said. "They're a tough team. We could only ace them three times and only scored seven kills." Despite the loss, Beck said the second and third games were fun and well-played, but that Olympia won because they were the better team. "We played defense pretty well," Beck added. "We dug 27 times." As of press time, the Lady High- climbers had not yet played at home against Bellarmine Prep on Wednes- day, Oct. 19. "Except for a couple of hiccups, it's been a hard-working, good attitude group this season," Beck said. Shelton girls'soccer season wrapping up By EMILY HANSON With the season quickly drawing to a close and the team plagued by injuries, many of the Shelton girls' soc- cer players have been stepping up. "We've had some key injuries and the depth of the squad isn't that good, so it's difficult to replace some players," head coach Mike Malpass said. "The girls who stepped up are doing really well." Despite this overall effortt from the Lady Highclimb- ers, the team lost two more games last week. ~ Malpass said Muenchow was the player of the game.
