city grants
The Mason County Forest Festi-
val Association, the Mason County
Historical Society and the Kristmas
Town Kiwanis are among seven or-
ganizations that will share $61,879
in tourism grants from the City of
Shelton. I
The Shelton City Council on Tues-
day evening awarded the money col-
lected from hotel and motel lodging
taxes. ‘ _
Each year, the city’s Lodging Tax
Advisory Committee recommends
how the city allocates the money.
This year, seven organizations asked
for $96,959.
The committee recommended
granting $6,300 to Kristmas Town
Kiwanis for Bluegrass from the For-
est; $8,910 to the Mason County
Forest Festival Association; $11,250
to the Mason County Historical
Museum and Visitor Center; $1,782
to the Mason County Historical So-
ciety for its annual downtown car
$3,307 to the chamber and the state

City offers virtual
programs for kids.
Wildlife biology, kids dance studio
and acting for kids are among the vir-
tual programs offered this fall by the
SheltOn Parks and Recreation Depart-I
ment.
The 45-minute online programs are
once a week and each session is 45
minutes. The programs run from Nov.
2 through Dec. 18.
