Canal Salmon Enhancement Group conducted the count at the salmon trap on state Route for the 20th year. Roberts summed up MTSS as consisting of five essential components: I Team-driven shared leadership. I Data-based problem-solving and decision- making. ' I A layered continuum of supports. I Evidence-based practices. I Family, school and community partnering. According to Roberts, the district’s primary problem is determining how to ensure that all of its students are connected and engaged with school despite the restrictions imposed by COVID. ' “That’s how we started our year,” Roberts said. “That’s how we decided our first cohorts who would came back.” Roberts said this school year would be marked by the district’s increased focus on assessment lit- eracy, how it uses data to make decisions regarding students’ current status versus their expected prog- ress, and creating “as robust a distance-learning opportunity” as possible for all of its students.
