fice urged people to vote "yes" on a
ballot measure which would raise
the county sales tax by one-tenth
of 1 percent for the purpose of im-
proving 911, the communications
system used to dispatch police,
paramedics and firefighters to
emergencies.

Roads, growth and emergency
dispatch funding were up for dis-
cussion at a public forum orga-
nized by the League of Women
Voters of Mason County.
Other sponsors of the forum
were the Shelton-Mason County
Chamber of Commerce and KMAS
Radio, which broadcast the 90-
minute program. League presi-
dent Mary Turner welcomed the
several dozen people who were in
attendance and introduced them
to Kim McNamara, administrator
