Josephine "Edna" O1-
son Woosley Drinkall, 96,
died Sunday, Oct. 16, at
Shelton Health and Re-
habilitation. She was a
resident of Hoodsport for
seven years.
She was born Aug. 11,
1915, in Prince George,
British Columbia, Cana-
da to Clarence and Lucille
Josephine
Drinkall
(Tyler)
Olson.
She
gradu-
ated from
high
school in
Nampa,
Idaho.
She
married
Halsey
" H a 1 "
Merlyn
Drinkall on May 31, 1938
in Nampa, Idaho.
Her family said she was
a homemaker and enjoyed
making ceramic dolls,
looking for shells and
rocks on the beach and
she loved her animals.
She enjoyed traveling the
Unites States in a motor
home and had taken a Ca-
ribbean cruise and trav-
eled to Indonesia for a
month. She was a member
of Eastern Star in Alaska,
International Order of
Rainbow for Girls for 50
years and Grand Dep-
uty Emeritus, past and
founding member of La-
dies of the Lake Quilting
Club, a member of Hood
Canal Booster Club and
a member of Hood Canal
Community Church.
She is survived by
daughter Jeannine
Provost of Anchor-
age, Alaska; sister Bar-
bara Chitwood of Weiser,
Idaho; grandson Douglas
Drinkall of Hoodsport;
granddaughter Sara Jo
Saxerud of Saroso-
ta, Fla.; daughter-in-law
Merrianne Geisdorf of
Mesa, Ariz.; nine great-
grandchildren, one great-
great-granddaughter and
numerous other family
members and friends.
She was preceded in
death by her parents;
husband Halsey Drinkall,
brother John Woosley,
sister Jane Carpenter and
son Merlyn Duane Drink-
all.
A memorial service was
held on Sunday, Oct. 23,
at Hood Canal Commu-
nity Church.

Gardner
Freda May "Toni" Gard-
ner, 86, died Thursday,
Oct. 20. She was a long
time resident of Shelton.
She was born May 5,
1925 in Elma to Herbert
and Mary Helen (Mc-
~ Nearney)
Decker.
She
married
Richard
D. Gard-
ner in
Shelton
on April
5, 1952.
Fredy She had
Gardner worked as
a welder
at the
Bremerton shipyards dur-
ing World War II; she
was the owner/operator
of the Lucky Strike Caf4,
a waitress at various res-
taurants in Shelton and a
retail clerk at Money Sav-
ers.
She was an original
member of the Dolphins
swim program, EFI Secre-
tary/Treasurer for Excep-
tional Foresters, a mem-
ber of the Emblem Club
at the Shelton Elks Lodge
#2467 and a Rocking
Grandmother for Choice
High School.
Her family shared that
she enjoyed getting her
family together for holi-
day feasts and just having
fun, she also liked to in-
clude military personnel.
She enjoyed crafts, music,
dancing and working in
her yard. Her family said
that she was a selfless
giver of her time and re-
sources unconditionally.
She is survived by her
sons Bruce Gardner and
Donald Gardner (Mary);
daughters Carolyn Gard-
ner, Kathy Morry (Peter)
and Denise Gardner; sis-
ters Bertha Carlsen and
Geneva Healy; 17 grand-
children and 19 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; hus-
band Richard D. Gardner,
brothers Thomas Decker
and Francis Decker.
A memorial Service
will be held at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 29 at the
Hope Chapel, 421 West
E Street, Shelton. A cel-
ebration of life reception
will be held at 12:30 p.m.
on Saturday, Oct. 29 at
St. Edward's Catholic
Church Social Hall fol-
lowing the memorial ser-
vice.

Margaret C. Holt
Margaret C. Holt, 90,
died Tuesday, Oct. 18, at
Alpine Way Retirement
Center in Shelton. She
was a resident of Shelton
for 56 years.
She was born April 30,
1921, to Paul and Eliza-
beth (Krostad) Walther in
Wolfpoint, Mont.

Milton L.
"Joe" Holt
in 1940 in
Margaret West Se-

She
worked as
a clothing clerk/buyer for
Shelton's Lloyd's Men's
Shop (formerly Bett-
man's) and for Millers De-
partment Store.
Holt was a prior mem-
ber of the Elk's Club, Bay-
shore Golf Club. Her hob-
bies included shopping,
golfing, going to the ca-
sino, cooking and garden-
ing. She liked to travel,
having traveled to Russia,
the Panama Canal, Af-
rica, and Spain. Her fam-
ily shared that she was
an avid reader and liked
dogs. She got together ev-
ery Wednesday with her
friends, which was known
as "the ladies day" and
went out to lunch. The
family said that her fa-
vorite thing was to sit at
her home, with all of her
family, spending time and
laughing.
She is survived by her
sons Gary and Steve Holt
of Shelton and Lonnie
Holt of Olympia; grand-
children Teri Holt-Mira-
bal of Albuquerque, N.M.,
Jamie Holt of Lilliwaup,
Kari Holt of Woodinville,
Mike Holt of Olympia,
Matt Holt of Edmonds and
Joe Holt of Shelton; seven
great-grandchildren and
numerous nieces, neph-
ews, and cousins. •
She was preceded in
death by her parents,
husband Joe, brother Bob
and sister Irene.

held Oct. 25 at Shelton
Memorial Park.
