Holiday on Main Street
Pastor Neil Thompson and his wife Edie make lefse,
a traditional Norwegian pastry, at a past "Holiday on
Main Street" bazaar, hosted by Faith Lutheran Church
women and Thrivent Financial. This year's version of
the annual fund-raiser will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
on Saturday, November 3, at 1212 Connection Street
in Shelton. There will be individual shops, such as the
Christmas boutique, sweet and craft shops, Granny's
Attic and Autumn Harvest. There will be four raffles
with proceeds to benefit the Mason County Shelter
for the homeless and programs of Rushford Lutheran
Church in Minnesota, where floods caused devasta-
tion in August. Herb Cargill will cook his soups for a
lunch that also features pie and those who attend will
also be invited to sup on homemade sweet rolls with
coffee and hot apple cider for breakfast. There will be
demonstrations of how to make lefse and krumkake.
A distinct Scandinavian flavor may be savored in Tom
River's sweet soup over rice pudding.

during the hearing. The city is try-

Friends and neighbors, in order to secure commercial growth and maintain a careful
and well-planned economic base for the future of Shelton I ou/dlike you to vote for J
Hupp for Port of Shelton Commissioner. Jay has no hidden Wge,uas. Jay is a retired m
tary aviator, as I am also; therefore, he realizes the importance of developing and main-i
taining our airport as a critical asset to our community. Sanderson field was built by the
navy; it is a 5000 foot paved runway with taxiways and hangars. It has accommodated
747s, for Aero Controls and emergency life flights, general aviation aircraft, commercial
and executive aircraft, and other aviation related activities. All users are paying taxes to
the city and county, in addition to paying year-round (not just seasonal) storage and re
fees. The FAA has specific rules that permit Shelton to keep and operate the airport; tt
are explicit and precise - carved in granite if you will. Our airport is a tremendous asset
and has much potential for generating income and providing jobs, and I would not like1 t:
