Crystal Lamb volunteered to he the chairman of the talent show committee. Anyone having a special talent they would like to share should contact Crystal. The Boys' Club also had a meeting Oct. 25. The club elected Joe Turner as president, Alex Haight as vice-president, Steve Rose as secretary, and Mike Saf- fer as treasurer. The Student Council has pur- chased an engraved plaque in memorial to Robert Nerpel. He was North Mason's math teacher who was killed in a motorcycle accident last June. The plaque will be placed where everyone can see it in either the trophy case or in the library. Congratulations go to Elizabeth Hunt who has been selected as North lVIason's candidate for the Soroptimist Scholarship. The Honor Society is sponsor- ing recreational chess in room No. 6. Mr. Butler, Honor Society adviser, will manage a be- binner's corner for students who want to learn how to play the game. This is a noon activity so take your lunch with you. All members of the student body are invited to participate. Any students who would like to know which books on the lit- erature lists can be borrowed from the branch library at Bel- fair, or any students who have difficulty getting to the branch library should see Mrs. Spooner. The band will soon be raising money for new uniforms. They plan to buy 60 blazers. The North Mason Youth Red Cross will be holding a member- ship drive Nov. 13-17, and will sponsor an assembly Nov. 15. More details of the Red Cross activities will be announced later. The Student Council is trying to arrange a Veterans Day as- sembly Nov. 11. In Charge of the assembly is Linda Bishop, chair- man; Jane Seyler and Debbie Andersen.
