The Mason County Civil Serv-
ice Commission will hold an open
competitive examination on No-
vember 14th at 7:30 P.M. in the
Court Room of the Mason county
courthouse.
The purpose of this examina-
tion is to establish an employ-
ment list of eligibles for the po-
sit'ton of Deputy Sheriff.
An applicant must be a citizen
of the United States, an elector
of the county in which he re-
sides, able to read and write
the English language, in sound
Lealth with no physical handi-
caps, have a High School educa-
tion or the equivalent and must
n(:ver have been convicted of a
gross misdemeanor or felony.
Beginning January Ist, 1968
the entrance salary for Deputy
Sheriffs will be $500.00 per
month and a vacancy is expect-
ed in the near future.
Application blanks for this ex-
amination may be obtained from
the Sheriff's office or from the
Civil Service, secretary, Jordan
Clapper, of Route 1, Box 30,
Shelton (Phone 426-2503).
Blanks must be filled out and re-
turned to the secretary not later
than noon November 14th. All
applicants must be fingerprinted,
interviewed by the Sheriff and
the Commission secretary to be
eligible for this examination.
