"The crew we had out there
did a phenomenal job protecting

Central Mason Fire & EMS chief
Tim McKern told the Journal.
"We knew when we first got here
that the buil pretty
much going to be' a=io~i and that
was early on. We had guys out
there until 4 p.m. and some came
back later in the evening to make
sure everything was completely
out."
The blaze reportedly be-
gan when a piece of lumber got
jammed in a machine, causing it
to spark. Those sparks were ignit-
ed by hydraulic fluid and flames
quickly climbed a wall and spread
throughout the structure. Camco
employees Thor Dobson and Chad
Mentzer evacuated the building
and alerted Mentzer's 14-year-old
daughter in the home on the prop-
erty to do the same.
Fire crews were called to the
scene at 8:15 a.m. and arrived to
find the building fully engulfed
in flames. Wind gusts of up to 35
mph made things difficult on fire
crews and because water supply
was limited, crews from multiple
fire districts responded with water

operated company that started in
1982 and manufactures Western
red cedar products at its Rainier
Custom Remanufacturing facility
