Then tonight there will be a
meeting for Title I parents and
anyone else interested in seeing
what this program entails. This
meeting is just for one-half hour
from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The
meeting will be held in the
library. Also the defensive
driving program is winding down
with one of the last classes
scheduled for tonight.
Then at 7:30 p.m. the
committee, which is now entitled
"Pioneer's Growing Concern,"
will hold its regular weekly
meeting. At last week's session

Thursday of this week should
prove to be a busy day, indeed.
First of all, the two kindergarten
classes will be combined so that

The Mason County
Commission has voted to sign an
application for a grant of

use in the county's county wide
addressing system.
County Planner James

the addressing system would cost
more than the amount of the

Pioneer would be so far down at
the bottom of the 'totem-pole'
for such funds that inflation
could and probably would offset
the advantage of awaiting those
matching funds to begin
construction.
At this Thursday night's
meeting the subcommittees will
begin to gather information and
get the wheels rolling toward
coordinating the facts and figures
into usable material for the
board as soon as possible.
Many parents responded to
the questionnaire concerning the
idea of holding the Christmas
program in Shelton, where there
would be adequate room. The
majority of those questionnaires
which were sent back indicated
they would be favorable. At this
time Pioneer has been informed
that the high school auditorium
will be available for its use
December 20. However, if
Pioneer elects to use this option
for this year, it should be noted

such time as there once more is
adequate room at the school for
this and all other programs.

are still extending a warm

Christmas program. If you either

either weekly tickets, or if
possible two-week lunch tickets,
rather than individual or daily
tickets. This does not mean that
the students must buy a hot
lunch every day. The tickets are
only punched for each use and
are good until they are
completely used. One-week or
two-week tickets would eliminate
both extra bookwork and the
long waiting lines.
Upcoming dates include, first
of all, no school Friday due to
observance of Veterans' Day.
Then next Monday is the
regular meeting of the Pioneer
School Board for November.
Coming up next week will be
parent-teacher conferences.
Scheduled times for the
conferences will be sent home
with students either the end of
this week or the beginning of
next. The dates are November 16
and 17, and there will be no
school on those days. (In prior
years there has been a half-day
of school on conference days.
The new schedule will
correspond with the Shelton
schools.)
