Gallery will display Norwegian art Karl Eaton and Hazel Beckwith will appear in authentic Norwegian costumes at Shelton Art Gallery from Wednesday through November 20 between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. Ms. Eaton will demonstrate Norwegian stitchery techniques while Hazel Beckwith shows her collection of imported Norwegian trolls. Also on display will be trolls hand.modeled by Ms. Beckwith and an album depicting native Norwegian costumes. Born and reared in Norway, Karl Eaton was employed in the Embassy Building. She met and married Jim Eaton who was with the American Embassy. "In Norway," she states, "girls learn at an early age the arts of embroidery, sewing, knitting and home economics. As a small child I was taught to sew and to knit by my mother and my grandmother. "Girls learn in the second grade at school to knit, sew and embroider and as fourth-graders they learn how to cook and to ', keep house. My teachers were Sue Fulterton very strict. After seven years of rural life the Fullertons moved into Shelton, where they are now building a house. "Whenever I can be home, I help," Sue says. "I do everything from painting to pounding nails." : She is employed in the kitchen at the Ming Tree Cafe, and she is active in the youth group of ,the First Christian Church. She enjoys jogging, and she is fond of a terrier-poodle named Rowdy and a Siamese cat called Mama Kitty. "We raise Siamese kittens," Sue explains. Sue Fullerton studies metal shop, stage band, economics, and drama. She is interested in psychology. She plays flute. 'Zm not a college person," she declares, "I'11 probably attend a trade school, perhaps to become a beautician. "After I am established in my work I would like to attend Bellevue Community College to take classes for my personal benefit. I want to study psychology. During four years in Hawaii she was a member of the University of Hawaii Extension Service, and there she learned many native island handcrafts. Several years ago Ms. Eaton completed all creative stitchery classes conducted by ann Dunnings, and as a member of the South South Creative Stitchery Guild formed in 1970 has attended workshops conducted by artists from this country and from Europe. The work of Karl Eaton is accomplished in all media of stitchery, but her favorites are abstracts. "It is rewarding," she declares, "to originate a design and to carry it through to the finished piece." Relief Society sets meeting The Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will meet at 10 a.m. next Thursday in the multi-purpose room of 'the church. Sally Cook will teach a mother-education lesson to aid in assisting children to gain a testimony of a personal God. The social relations lesson entitled "The Worth of a Soul" will encourage church members to strengthen relationships with non-members and inactive members of the church. Rummage sale will benefit MDA A rummage sale will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. On Friday and Saturday in Lincoln Gym.
