The varsity team includes Crystal Amick, Ronna Davis, Wendy Duncan, Patty Gifford (team captain), Julia Kadra, Sue Noyes and Becky Whitehall. Belfair Auto Wrecking (under-10 boys) won 1-0 over a tough South Kitsap team in a tight defensive struggle. A goal in the second half held up for the win. Sands Boats (under-12 boys) outscored a South Kitsap team by 5-3 to clinch the Southern League title with eight wins and a tie. Fine goalie play by Mark Knowles and Curt Cady and a defense led by Eric Lindmann, Chris Harmon and William Crichton held off the South Kitsap attack, while Brian Copps, John Johnson, Brian Ruff and Bruce Silvernale paced the offense. Parker Lumber (under-16 boys) regained the winning track with a 4-2 win over a South Kitsap team. A stout defense led by goalies Tim Johnson and Joe Hannan shut down South Kitsap in the second half, while the Belfair team scored two unanswered goals for the win. Reid Realty (under-19 boys) lost a rough game 6-2 to a physical South Kitsap team. The goals were scored by Gordon Leyde and Kevin Hendricks. Saturday will feature three games at Mission Creek field starting at 10 a.m: and lasting until 2:30 p.m. ' P?e Wee g,rls end season The North Mason girls pee wee basketball team finished its season November 2 with a roaring victory over Sheridan. Final score 42 to 18. The girls ranged in ages eight to 13 years old. The team has two and 10 for the season. Although they started off slowly, they greatly improved with each game. During the season, the outstanding scorers were Nicole Berger, Debbie Knowles and Jody Olsen, aided by the strong defensive squad. The team members were Holly Berger, Nicole Berger, Terri Cares, Tammy Dampier, Wendy Dampier, Debora Knowles, Jody Olsen, Teresa Smethers, Cynthia Wyman and Lisa Worms. Julia Horn. Mrs. Janet Genuit is the coach. She said that "Attention to basic volleyball skills and team cooperation were my main coaching goals. It's exciting to watch the improvement these girls made in one season and how they worked together to make the best plays. Serving was one of our strongest points. Several teams simply could not return most of our 'powerhouse serves.' I'm sure you'll be seeing many of these girls on future championship teams in high school." Crystal Amick is the leading server for the varsity with 48 points made off her serves. Debbie Knight is the leading server for the junior varsity with 62 points. DAR to hold luncheon The Elizabeth Ellington Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)will present museum slides on objects associated with early presidents at a no-host Thankgiving luncheon on Monday, November 20, 12:30 p.m. at the Belfair Cafe. Mrs. Marion Cole will make the presentation. The DAR Museum was started in 1890 and has a 50,000 object collection of American arts before 1830.
