NORTH
Director needed for
North Mason schools
The N ortb Mason School Board is
seeking a board member to represent
Director District 4.
The selected board member will
serve until the November 2025 election.
The position became available with the
retirement of'John Campbell. Quali-
fied candidates must reside within the
boundaries of District 4 and be regis-
tered to vote in the North Mason School
District.
Applicants can submit a letter of
interest that includes contact informa-
tion, a brief biographical sketch and a
statement about their interest in being
a board member. The letters will be ac—
cepted at the district office, 71 E. Cam—
pus Drive, Belfair 98528.
School board meetings begin at
6:30 pm. the second Thursday of each
month in the district's administration
building at 250 E. Campus Drive in
Beliair.
According to the district, the re-
wards of' serving on a school board in—
clude “giving back” to the community
by contributing your time and talents
to an enterprise that creates a positive
future for our children; serving a
leader for your fellow citizens and en-
suring the community’s voice is heard
in decisions aflecting the schools in our
community; working a team member
in a school system that is striving to
become one of the best; and helping to
ensure a quality public education for all
students.

Just like last Thanksgiving, the HUB Center for Seniors in Belfair will
serve
free Thanksgiving dinners at noon Nov. 22 at the center at 111 NE. Old

During that time, 50% of the sales
— excluding pull tabs will go to The
HUB to help pay back a $150,000 Eco-
nomic Injury Disaster Loan during the
COVID pandemic to keep operations
running and serving the community.
The restaurant will also host a silent
auction and accept donations in a raffle
basket.
The series of fundraisers is called
Out on the Town to Drive Down the
Loan. In September, the food truck
Wise Guys Italian Food raised more.
than $6,500, Executive Director Beth
Gizzi wrote in an email to the Herald.
In October, Burger Claim and More
hosted the fundraiser.
On Dec. 16, Bent Bine Brewery
will host the fundraiser. The HUB is
seeking a local business to host the
January event.

Free Thanksgiving

The HUB Center for Seniors in Bel-
fair will serve free Thanksgiving din~
ners at noon Nov. 22 at the center at'
111 NE. Old Belfair Highway.
The event begins at 10 am. with live
music and other entertainment. Dona—
tions will be accepted. The center is also
seeking donations of turkeys to cook for
the event.
