more about life," I~eth said.
"As a coach, I wan~ my play-
ers to take away that the
hard work they I at in on
the court will pay )ff in the
classroom and later on in
life."
Since Leth has been
working with the girls' bas-
ketball program at Pioneer,
he said he has put through
a lot of players into the high
school program. He added
that he's been trying to get
into the high school level for
four or five years.
The first step to turning
the program around, Leth
said, is at the family level.
"Parents and siblings
supporting the team, my
wife and kids support-
ing me, families attending
games to support; commu-
nity support is huge," he
added. "It's nice to see that
camaraderie when you're at
the game."
Leth said it will take a lot
of hard work to turn the pro-
gram around.
"We'll take small steps,"
he said. "It's not all about
wins and losses. If we can
walk away saying we played
hard and left it all on the
court and have the other
team say we've improved a
lot, that's a moral victory
for the program. Wins will
come with hard work."
After spending the last
nine years in Shelton, Leth
said he is invested in the
community.
"I'm happy and we're in-
vested in this community
with lots of friends, family
and young kids we want to
bring up here," he said.
"We'll Lake small steps.
It's not about wins and
losses Wins will come
mt[ hard work."
