the mother of a little girl, in her fatigues,

service. This little girl always ran up to give
me a hug, when her dad brought her to
church, and my heart went out to her. Her
mother had to leave that afternoon, and
I said, “Aren’t you sad?” She said, “No, l’
know it’s Mommy’s job. She has to g9 to
work.” Or something like that, but very
matter-of—factly.
At that moment, I felt a huge respect for
her father, because he was making a normal
life for her, and admired and respected his
wife. He was teaching her to do the same.
We also need to thank the families of our
veterans. They are parents, grandparents,
sisters, brothers, spouses, children, aunts,
