August 14, 1948 - October 25, 2021
Iim Archer passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021. Jim was
born August 14, 1948 to James-and Pauline Archer of Shelton.
After graduating high school in 1966, he jOined the Marine Corps
and he served two tours in Vietnam. Once out of the service, he’
worked in the construction industry until his retirement in 2009. Jim
was preceded in death by his parents and his only childJimmy Arch—
er. He is survived by brothers, Doug and Iohn and sisters, Kathy and
Nancy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Obituaries
Richard Allen Smith
Richard Allen Smith, born April
12, 1958, in Olympia, WA, to John
and Jean Smith. He passed away
November 13, 2021, in Lummi,
WA. He and his wife Carol lived
on Skokomish Nation in Mason
County. ‘
Richard was a heavy equipment
Operator, a tree topper, and had so
many more valuable traits. He en-
joyed fishing, hunting, and spend-
ing time with family, playing pool
and darts. He had a strong belief
in the Shaker-Church and contrib-
uted so much to the cemmunity
by grave digging, making caskets,
and gathering seafood, etc. for the
Shaker Church. Richard was the
most loveable person around.
He is preceded in death by his
Edward, Julian, Robert (Gabby), all last named Smith, Also, six sis-
ters, Lametta LaClair, Katherine (Casey), Clydia Christine, Mildred
(Bear) Smith andalso Lawrence Kenyon, and a grandson J ayden Wil-
bur. Richard is survived by, wife C‘arol Smith, sons Joseph Chenois,
Nicholas Wilbur, III, Jacob Smith, Bud Wilbur, Lyle Wilbur and four .
daughters, Eleanor, Carrie Ann, Setiva, Rachel all last named, Smith,
and sisters Virginia (Ginger) and Annette (Nut). 27 grandchildren and
one great grandchild. ‘ .
Theregwill be a memorial service Monday, November 22, 2021, at
1:00 pm. at the Skokomish Shaker Church, located at the corner of
US-101 North and W. Skokomish Valley Rd., north of Shelton.
Lois Gathoni Kirika
Lois Gathoni Kirika journeyed-
"home on November 7,“ 2021, “as
Providence St. Peter Hospital in
Olympia, WA.
Lois was born March 17, 1943
in Uthiru, Kenya. She came to
the United States on September
12,1962. She'went on to get her
Masters Degree in teaching from
San Francisco University in Cali-
fornia. While attending school she
met Moses Kirika who also was at-
tending the university. They later
married onf February 13, 1965, and
had one son. They later made‘the
decision to move to Shelton, Wash-
ington in 2004, where they have
resided for the last 17 years.
Lois had a passion for teaching.
She loved flowers, reading and her
family. Lois and Moses are both
members of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Shelton. ‘
Lois Gathoni Kirika is survived by her Husband of 56 years, Moses
Kirika, and their son, Kimotho Kirika. Lois will be greatly missed by ,
her family and friends.
