A CHOPPER LOWERS a jumbo Christmas tree onto the grounds of the Ahlerbrook Resort & Spa in anticipation of Friday's lighting festivities in Union on the shores of Hood Canal. McReavy celebration set; writers lining u A program of art and his- tory is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, to celebrate the donation of the John McReavy Mansion to the foundation launching The McReavy ttouse Museum of Hood Canal. The free "Soiree of Celebra- tion" is set for 6 to 8 p.m. at Robin Hood Restaurant at 6790 East tIighway 106 in Union. Light refreshments will be served. The event will mark Eliza- beth and Mike Visser's dona- tion of the 19th Century house overlooking the Great Bend in Union. Mrs. Visser is the great- great-granddaughter of John McReavy, a land developer and logging baron who built the mansion in 1890. The foundation wants to turn the house into a museum and arts center, bringing back the days of the last century when the South Shore had an arts colony.
