Ajamu from head coach
Steve Sarkisian.
"I was at the
UW-versus-Utah game (on Nov.
10) and Coach Sark offered me a
full ride scholarship," Ajamu said.
"I thought about it, pros and cons
and weighed my options. I talked
to my family and some real close
friends.~
On Sunday, Ajamu decommit-
ted from Oregon State and com-
mitted to the UW.
"I've been living in Washington
state almost all my life," Ajamu
said. "(UW) is known for being
a top academic school. The tight
end they have now (sophomore
Austin Seferian-Jenkins) is doing
well and I'd be an understudy for
him. I'd basically take over where
he left off when he leaves."
Ajamu said he plans to stick
with UW until signing day on
Feb. 2.
"I don't want to decommit
again," he said. "It was probably
one of the hardest things I've had
to do."
If nothing changes between
now and Feb. 2, Ajamu will sign
an official offer from the Huskies
and will then attend a three-week
camp with the team in July before
going back for the start of prac-
tices in August.
He said he's looking forward to
being a Husky and representing
his hometown.
"I'll be able to come back more
often," Ajamu said.
Though he hasn't decided on
a major yet, Ajamu said he's con-
sidering business management,
civil engineering or something in
design.
