Part time courses
offered at Evergreen

brochure, which will be available
November 27.
Regular registration for
winter quarter will be held in the
registrar's office, Library 1101,
Wednesday and Thursday,
January 3 and 4, 9 a.m, to 7
p.m.; Friday, January 5, from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Monday
through Wednesday, January
8-10, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. January
10 is the deadline for tee
payments and the last date on
which students may request full
refund of payments already
made.
Tuition for part-time studies
at Evergreen is $83 for one
Evergreen unit (four quarter
hours) or $123 for two units
(eight quarter hours) for
Washington residents.
Winter quarter classes will
begin January 3 and continue
through March 16, 1979.
Winter quarter offerings in
the arts include: audio recording
techniques; basic television skills:
beginning dance: ballet and
modern; beginning modern dance
i1: clayworks; the character;
chamber orchestra; class piano;
color photography; design and
construction for the theater;
history out of the books and
onto the stage; image making;
tonal counterpoint; voice/choir.
Offerings in the humanities
include: ajax compact; between
the covers: how to find what
you need in the library; dream
poet; dynamics of change;
evolution: personal
and professional; existential
literature; expository writing: a
hard-nosed approach; French I;
French II, French I11;
introduction to philosphy of
science; Italian 1; reading the
classics now; Russian I1; sex roles
in history; Spanish 1; Spanish II;
understanding poetry.
Selections in the natural
sciences -- which include
mathematics and computer
sciences - include: architectural
drawing; calculus !; introduction
to computers and programming;
is the climate changing? from
Chihuahuan Desert to tropical
forest; organic chemistry;
statistics.
And in the social sciences
students may choose from these:
big decisions: a social scientific
inquiry into policy making;
China now; contemporary
organizational life; grieving and
dying: to help and be helped;
helping: skills and process;
intervention in the free market;
legislative watch; introduction to
business law; Pacific Northwest
history: resources and
interpretive strategies; the
politics of labor in a world
perspective; principles of
accounting 1; women and the
law.
