“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts
with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name. " Psalm 100:4
NLT
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I am SO excited! I think it is
one of my favorite holidays because there is no pressure
to give gifts!
It is all about family and food, and giving thanks to God
for all that we have and all that we are.
I know some families who do not believe in God, but
they still are thankful when all the family members get
together to eat, reminisce,'watch football, or the Macy’s
Thanksgiving Day parade.
What do YOU like to do on Thanksgiving?
Do you like to play with cousins you have not seen in
awhile?
Do you like to smell the turkey cooking, and the smells
of pies baking?
YUM!
This year may be different, as we are in the middle of a
pandemic. People may not be able to travel. Gatherings
will have to be smaller, and it may even be just your

Good News!
own family celebrating the day this year. I
But you know what?
We can still give thanks to God! In fact, 1 Thessalonians
5:18 tells us to “Be thankful in ALL circumstances, for
this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
If you are fortunate enough to have parents and a
house, it doesn’t matter if your Thanksgiving dinner is
pizza or macaroni and cheese with hot dogs! You can
be thankful and grateful.
There will be many homeless and hungry people this
year. We need to remember them. If we don’t have
enough money to buy them food, we can pray for them,
that God will send someone their way to bless them!
Not all families say grace before they eat. Some only
say it on special occasions. We do not judge, as we
are not perfect either, but I am asking you all to please
remember to thank God tomorrow. You will really make
Him smile!
Maybe you can start a new tradition, after you pray,
and tell what you are thankful for. Your parents? Your
grandparents? Your brothers and sisters? Your pet? Your
friends? Maybe a new phone or computer you got?
Then go around the table, and everyone say something
they are thankful for. (I bet you will get a few that make
you laugh!— Don’t worry, God has a sense of humor!)
But, most importantly, God loves every little detail
of your life, and He loves when you include Him in
everything you say and do. So sing and shout, and
praise His name!
Maybe you can help Mom in the kitchen, or maybe she.
will Shoo you out to go play, but it doesn’t hurt to offer
to help! You will make her smile too!
I am thankful that I get to share Thanksgiving with my
daughter, her dad, and her grandparents. And I will
do what I suggested to you, and say something I’m
thankful for, then ask everyone else to also. I want God,
Jesus, and the Holy spirit to share our day with us!
And I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
