The bubbles are trans- parent tents that offer relative privacy and water— front views at the same time. The Boat House started out with five bubbles, all named after fictional ships — the SS Minnow, Jolly Roger, Jenny and Orca seat two to four people each, and the Black Pearl seats a group of six to eight. They are limited to adults and require reservations. They’re booked into December. The bubbles have drawn diners from three neigh- boring counties, and they’ve been stress-tested by the weather. McCoy and her employees figured out on the spot how to keep them standing against 50 mph gusts. ‘ “We quickly learned where to put the stakes and Gail McCoy, owner- of The Boat House Restaurant Bar in Allyn, seeks to provide diners with an enjoyable experience that is safe during the COVlD-19 era.
