Park crimes are reported Roger Allin, Superintendent of Olympic National Park, announced this week that 217 serious offenses were committed in the park during the past summer. The offenses included such crimes as possession of hard drugs, auto theft, burglaries, fraud, grand larceny and petty larceny. Criminal investigations conducted by park law enforcement staff resulted in the charges being brought against 20 persons, and the recovery of a substantial portion of the stolen articles. Much of the property stolen was from vehicles parked at trailheads throughout the park, said Allin. Although measures are being taken to minimize such thefts, backpackers sho,dd be aware of the risk involved in leaving valuables at trailheads. --'"4 Open 'til 8:30 until Christmas 426-2691 I III III Page 16 - Shelton-Mason County Journal - Thursday, November 27, 1975 Books For Everyone • Best Sellers • Religious Books • Children's Books Also • Free Coffee • Free Gift Wrap • Magazines • Hardcover Paperbacks • Craft Books • Book plates • Posters Helen &George Magee and 211 W.
