In Warud girls may attend through college level. More than 100 girls, first grade through college-age, board at GCI. To minimize expenses they do most of their own cooking and washing. Because the village girls were unable to meet the academic standards of the town schools, even with special tutoring, GCI started its own primary school in 1973. Sunrise School now has government-recognized seven grades. Miss Kludt oversaw the development of the school and hostel. As more children applied to live at GCI and attend Sunrise School, staff quarters, a kitchen and classrooms were added. The public is welcome to attend and hear Miss Kludt. tax tax collections in for schools have at $1,691,895 for the year, the State tnent of Revenue week. $1,637,634 will come aPerty tax and $54,261 excise tax. Tlae department said the levy statewide is eight percent higher for 1976 than it was for 1975 with the increase attributed 'to an increase in the market value of property. The money collected, the department said, is returned to school districts through the state equalization formula. Early work release given Judge Frank Baker, after a hearing in Mason County Superior Court Friday, agreed to allow Robert Eagle, M /tlock, to be put on work release after serving two months on confinement in the Mason County jail. Eagle has been sentenced to a' year in the county jail with the first six months to be served without work release and the second six months with work release. Eagle's attorney, James Sawyer, Shelton, told the court Eagle had a job waiting for him if he could go on work release. The attorney stated that because of a medical problem, Eagle's wife is unable to work and is having a difficult time. Eagle was sentenced after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Tomlinson at Fort Lewis Army Private First Class Marc F.
