Little Skookum sets big bazaar Members of the Little Skookum Community Club have planned their fifth annual holiday craft bazaar. The event is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Decem- ber 1, at Little Skookum Hall, located at 3480 Lynch Road, about 3.4 miles from Taylor Towne on Highway 101. SOCK can fill your Christmas stockings The Shelton Christmas Bazaar celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. SOCK, which is also known as Save Our County's Kids, is the bazaar's sponsor again this year and has special treats in store for all who attend. The bazaar will feature more than 30 booths and be open on Saturday and Sunday in the Ma- son Transit Community Center, 601 West Franklin Street. This is located right across the street from Safeway. The bazaar will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on De- cember 1 and from 11 a.m. to p.m on December 2. The Shelton High School choir will provide strolling carolers be- tween 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Then, to add another delicious note to the festivities, SOCK is hosting a holiday bake sale and also offering hearty, hot food and drinks from Ivy's Kitchen, just off the main floor of the community center. For the young ones, and the young at heart, Santa will be there from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, with one-hour breaks to feed the reindeer at 1 and 5 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. One way to generate some holi- day spirit is to wander through the Christmas bazaar before or aider taking in Shelton's famous Christmas Torchlight Parade. The parade begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday and ends near the Ma- son Transit Community Center. She was found after being attacked by a dog. She had one ear partly bit off and her back leg wounded. Even after surviv- ing what must have been a ter- rifying experience, she is a lov- ing and friendly little girl. Her wounds have healed and she is now ready for a family to cher- ish and protect her forever. She MUST have a home with- out dogs," a volunteer said. Miss Grace is immunized, vet- checked and ready for adop- tion. Kitten Rescue of Mason County can be reached in the evenings at 426-2455. Adopt-a-Pet Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit volun- teer group whose placement services, kennels and spay-neuter assistance program are financed through month- ly garage sales held on the second Saturday of the month at 210 Grove Street. All dogs are vet-checked and spayed or neutered. S;helton's Relay i,ck off The kickoff of the next running of the Shelton Relay For Life will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thurs- day, December 6, in the library of Olympic Middle School at 800 East K Street in Shelton. People who want to honor can- cer survivors are invited to join the Shelton Relay For Life, sched- uled for June 13-14 at Highclimb- er Stadium on the campus of Shel- ton High School at 3737 Shelton Springs Road. The Relay is an overnight com- munity celebration at which indi- viduals and teams camp out and take turns walking around the stadium to raise funds to fight can- cer. At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminarias around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. The kickoff event will feature a number of guest speakers, a na- tional recognition of 2007 Relay events in Mason County, and an- nouncement of next year's theme and slogan. There will be a mini- luminaria service and a registra- tion bonus for returning and new teams. Teams signing up at the kickoff will receive $50 off their registration fee.
