Superior court roundup:
Trooper arrests immigrant
found with meth and gun
Bail was set at $25,000 for a
Shelton man arrested by an of-
ricer of the Washington State Pa-
trol who reported finding a large
amount of methamphetamine and
a handgun in a vehicle.
Elfego Rologio Morales, 48,
of 1907 Olympia Highway North,
Shelton, was identified on Tuesday
in Mason County Superior Court
in an investigation of possession
of methamphetamine, possession
of meth with intent to deliver, un-
lawful possession of a firearm in
the second degree, driving under
the influence and use of drug para-
phernalia.
Morales was arrested on No-
vember 26 by Trooper Tim Knopp
who reported stopping the vehicle
Morales was driving for speeding
on State Route 3 and then turning
into the Deer Creek Store without
signaling.
The trooper reported a strong
odor of intoxicants coming from
Morales, who did not have a driv-
er's license or identification. Knopp
said the man's eyes were bloodshot
and there was an open container
of beer in the vehicle. The trooper
performed field sobriety tests and
arrested Morales for driving under
the influence. Knopp said when he
searched the man he found a re-
ceipt for a money transfer in the
name of Rogelio Morales.
Knopp reported finding a loaded
.25-caliber, semiautomatic pistol
on the front passenger seat inside
a cloth bag. The suspected meth
was found in a nylon bag inside
the vehicle. The nylon bag report-
edly contained one bag of white
crystal powder, which field-tested
positive for meth, smaller bags
which the trooper noted were con-
sistent with drug packaging and a
digital scale.
Morales is prohibited from
having firearms as a result of a
conviction last year. He was sen-
tenced on September 11, 2006 to
six months in the Mason County
Jail for possession of meth and be-
ing an alien, that is an immigrant,
in possession of a firearm. Deputy
Prosecutor Mike Dorcy said there
is a detainer naming Morales from
the U.S. office of Immigration and
Custom Enforcement. Dorcy said
Trooper Knopp brought in the new
drug dog assigned to Trooper Matt
Wood of the Shelton detachment.
Dorcy said the dog "alerted" to
the presence of drugs on the cash
found in Morales' pocket. The to-
tal weight of the suspected meth
was 51 grams, he reported. Dorcy
requested bail of $25,000.
Judge Toni Sheldon agreed
and set bail at that amount. She
appointed Jeanette Boothe as de-
fense attorney and scheduled ar-
raignment for December 7. Court-
certified interpreter Darren Parse
translated the proceedings into
Spanish and English.
Also on Tuesday, November 27:
Randy Eugene Deibert, 46,
of 6373 West Skokomish Valley
Road, Shelton, was identified in
an investigation of felony violation
of a no-contact order and unlawful
possession of a firearm in the sec-
ond degree.
He was arrested November
26 by deputies from the Mason
County Sheriffs Office who said
they were responding to a report
from Norita Valencia who said her
former boyfriend Deibert came to
Longshore's Drive Inn on High-
way 101 armed with a rifle and
threatening suicide. She report-
edly said he also threatened to cut
her throat and break her neck. De-
ibert was located at the residence
on Skokomish Valley Road and
taken into custody, according to
papers on file with the court clerk,
and loaded rifle was found in his
vehicle.
A court order which prohibits
contact between Deibert and Va-
lencia is effective until July 27,
2009, according to court docu-
ments. The order is related to a
case of domestic violence. Deibert
is a convicted felon and therefore
prohibited from having firearms.
Judge Sheldon appointed James
Foley as defense attorney, set bail
at $10,000 and scheduled arraign-
ment for December 7. She ordered
him to have no contact with Valen-
cia.
Steven Roland Glazan, 36,
of 925 Turner Avenue, Shelton,
was identified in an investigation
of two counts of possession of sto-
len property in the second degree
involving credit cards.
He was arrested on November
20 at the jail, where he was booked
on unrelated charges. Officer Chris
Kostad of the Shelton Police De-
partment had been investigating
a report from Michelle Corey of a
vehicle prowl at about 1:40 p.m. on
November 20. She said her wallet
and $1 were stolen from her purse,
which was in her vehicle parked at
1635 Olympic Highway North. Her
wallet contained two credit cards.
Corey's credit cards were found in
a search of Glazan's property at
the jail.
Judge Sheldon appointed Ron-
ald Sergi as defense attorney, set
bail at $2,500 and set arraignment
for December 7.
Nicholas William Pouch,
34, of 3210 West Deckerville Road,
Elma, was identified in an investi-
gation of possession of marijuana
with intent to deliver and manu-
facture of marijuana.
He was arrested November
26 after officers from the West
Sound Narcotics Enforcement
Team served a search warrant at
the Deckerville residence. A large
bag of green vegetable material
with individual bangles of pot was
found in the master bedroom, De-
tective Tasesa Maiava reported,
and 49 plants were growing in an
unattached woodshed.
Judge Sheldon told Pouch
he does not qualify financially
for court-appointed counsel and
would have to hire an attorney.
She released him on his promise
to appear for arraignment on De-
cember 7.
On Monday, November 26:
Michael Roy Parker, 20, of
21 East Crows Nest Court, Shel-
ton, was identified in an investiga-
tion of felony harassment. He is
suspected of domestic violence in-
volving threats to kill his mother.
He was arrested November 23
by Deputy R.B. Trout of the Ma-
son County Sheriffs Office who
was responding to a report from
Lisa F. Michael of a disturbance
at 21 East Crows Nest Court. She
said her son, Parker, stopped by
and started a fight with her hus-
band, Michael J. Michael, when he
confronted Parker about a missing
debit card. Parker allegedly took
a swing at Michael and Michael
swung back. Parker left and then
the Michaels said they received
two phone calls from Parker
threatening to kill them. She said
she believed her son had access
to a handgun. The phone num-
ber which Parker called from was
traced to 473 East Agate Beach
Road where he was arrested.
Judge James Sawyer appointed
Foley as defense attorney, set bail
at $10,000 and scheduled arraign-
ment for December 10. He ordered
Parker to have no contact with his
mother, his stepfather or their res-
idence on Crows Nest Court.
Greggory Allen Novick, 37,
What do you
of 630 NE Newkirk Road, Belfair,
was identified in an investigation
of possession of heroin and driv-
ing while license suspended or re-
voked in the third degree.
He was arrested around 5 a.m.
November 25 by a deputy on rou-
tine patrol in the Belfair area. He
reportedly spotted someone rid-
ing an off-road motorcycle with
no light and no helmet and saw
the motorist pull into a lot at JR's
Hideaway. The deputy said the
rider, identified as Novick, jumped
off the dirt bike and ran up a hill-
side. The deputy said he saw him
stuff a black handgun under a
storage container.
Novick was arrested on a
Bremerton Municipal Court war-
rant. The deputy reported finding
numerous needles in his back-
pack, including one that contained
a brown liquid which field-tested
positive for heroin. A black semi-
automatic BB gun was located af-
ter Novick was arrested.
Judge Sawyer appointed Foley
as defense attorney, set bail at
$2,500 and scheduled arraignment
for December 10.
* Tony Robert Foote, 18, of
810 SE Crescent Drive, Shelton,
was identified in an investigation
of felony harassment and assault
in the fourth degree. He is sus-
pected of domestic violence against
Stephanie M. Dorian. They have
a 2-year-old child in common and
she is expecting another child.
He was arrested November 25
by Mason County Detective Jim
Morini at the residence on SE Cres-
cent Drive at Fawn Lake. Morini
was investigating a threats com-
plaint from Dorian who claimed
Foote grabbed her around the
neck, dragged her onto the porch
and threw her down. He allegedly
told her to leave or he would shoot
her and blow up her vehicle. She
said Foote had guns including a
rifle and when two officers went to
the residence a 12-gauge shotgun
was seen on the driver's seat of
Foote's vehicle.
Foote did not respond to com-
mands to come out of the resi-
dence and the Sheriff Emergency
Response Team was called to help
gain entry into the residence.
Foote later came out and was ar-
rested without incident.
Judge Sawyer told Foote he does
not qualify financially for court-ap-
pointed counsel and would have to
hire an attorney. He ordered him
to have no contact with Dorian
and said he would have to provide
an address which is different from
her residence. Sawyer set bail at
$2,500 and scheduled arraignment
for December 10.
A man and woman suspected of
taking a shopping cart full of mer-
chandise from the Safeway store
in Shelton also appeared Monday.
John Thomas, 44, of 413 H

ployee said he followed a man and
woman who left the store without
paying for a shopping cart full of
merchandise.
