Ruth L. Kirksey
Dies In Puyallup
Ruth k. Kirksey of Oakville
died last Thursday at the Good
Samaritan ttospital in Puyallup at
the age of 59 years.
She was born in Shelton on
June 3, 1910, and lived here most
of her life. She was a member of
the Seventh Day Adventist
church.
She is survived by a son, John
Musgrave of Sacramento, Calif.; a
daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann
Dickinson of Huntsville, Ala.; a
brother, Hayes Davis of Seattle;
and five grandchildren.
The service was held Saturday
at the Seventh Day Adventist
church with Elder Robert Bert
officiating. Burial was in the
Shelton Memorial Park.

Cecilia S. Bell
Dies In Portland
Cecilia Smith Bell, 12108 S.
W. Lesser Rd., Portland, Ore.,
died November 26 in a
convalescent home in Portland.
She was 81 years old.
She was born Feb. 29, 1888
in MinoS, N. D. She was a retired
school teacher, and was a member
of the Irene S. Reed High School
faculty from 1943 to 1958.
Before coming to Shelton, Miss
Bell had taught in the English
department of the University of
Oregon and in high schools in
both Oregon and Washington. She
had received her Master's degree
at the University of Washington.
She was a member of the
Unitarian church, the League of
Women Voters, Jane Jefferson
Democratic Club, the
Rhododendron Society, and Delta
Kappa Gamma Society.
During her retirement years
one of her favorite hobbies was
corresponding with many of her
former students.
She is survived by a sister,
Jean Herriot Bell of Portland; a
brother, James D. Bell, of
Portland; two nieces; and two
nephews.
Memorial services were held
Friday in the First Unitarian
church chapel in Portland with
private commitment in the
Skyline Memorial Gardens
Crematorium.
Edna Hilderman
Dies Saturday
Edna A. Hilderman, Rt, 3,
Box 376A, died Saturday in St.
Peter's Hospital in Olympia at the
age of 58.
She was born Jan. 1, 1911,in
Joliet, Mont. and had lived in this
area for the past 25 years. She
was a member of the Baptist
church.
She is survived by her
husband, George, of the home; a
son, Bruce, of Port Angeles; a
daughter, Mrs. Billie Corey of
Shelton; five brothers; seven
sisters; and four grandsons.
The funeral service was held
Tuesday in the Baptist church
with the Rev. Jerry Larson
officiating. Burial was in the
Shelton Memorial Park.

Charles S. Cole
Dies On Friday
Charles S. Cole, 1711 Stevens
St., was dead on arrival at the
Mason General Hospital on
Friday. lte was 66 years old.
He was born on Feb. 18,
1903, in Roswell, N.M., and had
lived in the Shelton area for the
past 39 years, tie was a retired
machine operator for the Simpson
Timber Company. He was a
Veteran of World War !1 and a
member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife
Mildred of the home; two
brothers, Harry and John of
Shelton; and a sister, Mrs. Cord
Pruitt of Phoenix, Ariz.
The funeral service was
conducted by veterans
organizations at the Batstone
Funeral Home on Monday.
Cremation followed.
Creekpaum Baby
Dies Saturday
Baby boy Creekpaum was
born and died Saturday in
Shelton. His parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Richard D. Creekpaum.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
John E. Creekpaum of McCleary
and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur ltliboki
of Shelton.
Burial was in Babyland in the
Shelton Memorial Park.
