Kiwanis set yule party
Members of the Shelton Kiwanis Club will gather for their an-
nual Christmas party luncheon at noon, Tuesday, December 11, at
Shelton United Methodist Church, 1900 King Street in Shelton.
Students from Shelton High School will sing at this event.
Lilliwaup club plans party
The annual Lilliwaup Community Club Christmas party will
take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, at the Lilli-
waup Community Clubhouse oll Highway 101. Anyone wishing to
attend is asked to bring a canned food donation for the Hood Canal
Food Bank. Those planning to attend are also encouraged to bring
a "white elephant" gift for the gift exchange. Ron Zier, superinten-
dent of the Hood Canal School, will be the guest speaker. The club
will provide ham. A large turnout is expected, so attendees are
asked to bring a side dish, salad or dessert large enough to feed at
least 15 people in addition to their own dinnerware. Everyone is
welcome!
Pioneers to eat at Elks lodge
The Mason County Pioneers group will meet for a luncheon at
noon on Wednesday, December 12, at the Shelton Elks Lodge, 741
SE Craig Road.
MS support group will meet
Members of the Mason County Multiple Sclerosis Support Group
will gather for their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
December 11, at the Royal Shanghai Restaurant, 2517 Olympic
Highway North in Shelton. This meeting is open to everyone with
multiple sclerosis, along with their spouses, significant others,
caregivers and/or friends and acquaintances.
Beta Zetas will share gifts
The Beta Zeta chapter of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority will
meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, for a short busi-
ness meeting" followed by a Christmas party at the home of Jean
Sowers. They will exchange "secret sister" gifts and receive new
names for the coming year. EVeryone is asked to bring a favorite
snack.
Vets, auxiliary set meeting
The Mason County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1694 and the
ladies auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 7, at Me-
morial Hall at Second and Franklin streets in downtown Shelton.
The auxiliary will be planning for the Christmas dinner scheduled
for Friday, December 21. Winners of the Patriots Pen and Voice of
Democracy contests will be made known to the membership on De-
cember 7. Those planning to attend are asked to bring their pen-
nies. The auxiliary will host a pinochle card party at 1 p.m. All
funds raised will be used to support the cancer aid and research
program. The public is invited.
Bunco funds programs
Bunco Night is back. Save Our
County's Kids, or SOCK, will host
this monthly fhnd-raiser from 6
to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December
8, at the Community Center, lo-
cated on Franklin Street across
from Safeway in Shelton.
"No experience is needed to
play the game. Newcomers can
learn how to play in just a few
minutes," said Elizabeth Avery,
SOCK's office manager.
SOCK hosts these game nights
as part of a fun fund-raising
program called SOCK Socials.
"It's a fun way to socialize with
friends, and some of the proceeds
from the game benefit the SOCK
youth center, so it's a real win-
win," Avery said.
