Shelton junior guard Dakota Andrews comes in close to the basket
during the Highclimbers' home game against Capital on Friday, Dec. 2
By EMILY HANSON
In its first two games of the season, the
Shelton boys' basketball team couldn't out-
score its opponents for the wins.
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the Highclimbers
lost 58-43 at Timberline.
"I thought we played
fairly well because they
were pretty big and ath-
letic," Mark Jensen, head
coach, said. "I thought we
did some good things on
offense and defense."
FRIDAY: Jensen said the team
Capital ........ 52 needs to limit turnovers.

game for most of the play-
TOMORROW: ers at the varsity level,
Shelton vs. they looked a little tight,"
Central Kitsap, he added.
7 p.m. Dakota Andrews led
the Highclimbers in points
with 11. He also rebounded seven times and
had three steals. Kasey Thompson scored
nine points, Curtis Wuestner put up eight
points and Patrick Fabrizio scored six.
On Friday, Dec. 2, the Highclimbers lost at
home to Capital 52-34.
"Capital presents some
problems if you're inexpe-
rienced because they do
things differently detbn-
sively," Jensen said. "Part
of the problem was we
didn't shoot too well in ei-
ther game."
Austin Schirato led the
team with 10 points and
Curtis six rebounds while Wuest
Wuestner ner scored eight points and
grabbed up six rebounds.
Scan German scored seven
points and Andrews scored six points.
As of press time, the Highclimbers (0-2) had
not yet played at Yelm on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
The team is scheduled to play next at 7
p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at home against Cen-
tral Kitsap High School.
"I think we can win against Yelm and Cen-
tral Kitsap if we play well," Jensen said. "We
need to shoot the ball better and take better
care of it."
Despite the losses, Jensen added that he is
quite pleased.
"I thought we played really hard and com-
peted well, especially against Timberline," he
said.
