Brothers: Victim’s remains found near Isabella Lake

first degree and unlawful disposal of
human remains, which Dorcy told the
Shelton-Mason County Journal had
played a part in the difference be-
tween the Afos’ bail amounts.
Dorcy emphasized that this re-
mains an active investigation so
“there’s still a lot left to learn.”
According to the declaration of prob-
able cause filed by the Shelton Police
Department on Nov. 23, Wily’s broth—
er and Jareau’s cousin — 29-year-old
Taylor Krise - had contacted the po~
lice that same day to report Wily was
missing.
Krise told a Shelton Police detec-
tive Nov. 23 that J areau had allegedly
confessed to choking Wily after get—
ting upset with him, then told Krise
that Jordan had gotten rid of Wily’s
body.
Krise said he went to the Shelton
Police station immediately after drop-
ping Jareau off at the brothers’ home
in the 500 block of North 5th Street in
Shelton.
The same detective who took
Krise’s testimony was then told that
Wily’s sister was with Jordan on their
way to Isabella Lake off West Delight
Park Road so Jordan could show Wi-
n‘ar
request.

ly’s sister where his body was.
The woman who reported where
Jordan and Wily’s sister were headed
expressed her fears that Jordan would
kill Wily’s sister once they arrived at
their destination. The detective re-
quested that Shelton Police Lt. Mike
Fiola send units to Isabella Lake.
Jordan was detained at the scene
and according to the Shelton Police
Department’s probable cause declara-
tion, after Jordan was read his Miran-
da rights, he said he’d killed Wily and
put his body in the woods.
According to the incident report,
Jordan offered to show investigators
where the body was, and explained
that Wily’s body had been cut up,
placed in black garbage bags and
dumped in the swampy part of the
property.
Shelton Police and Mason County
Sheriffs Office detectives went to
the back of the scrap yard in the 700
block of West Golden Pheasant Road
and followed Jordan’s guidance to find
several black trash bags that the Shel-
ton Police Detective stated had the
appearance of containing body parts,
including an arm and a human head,
and “the strong smell of decomposi-
tion.”

Office detectives interviewed Jordan
at the police station, Jordan alleged
he’d blacked out after being hit by
Wily “a little over a week ago” in the
garage of his parents’ place, and while
he claimed to have no idea how Wily
had died, Jordan said that he’d cut
up Wily’s body, then'placed the body
parts into black trash bags and a large
white cooler. .
Jordan Afo told investigators he
dumped the trash bags outside of the
scrap yard and put the cooler inside
a white SUV that was junked in the
Wrecker yard.
Jordan’s statements were sufficient
for Shelton Police to obtain a warrant
for the Afo brothers’ home, where they
detained Jareau after they contacted
him and he attempted to leave the
residence.
According to the incident report,
a follow-up interview with Jordan
yielded a different story than the one
he’d initially told. He said his family
was asking him what had happened
to Wily because Jordan’s mother is re-
lated to Wily and his family.
In Jordan’s revised account, “over a
week ago,” he’d'been fixing the bath-
room at his house and joined Jareau
and Wily for a smoke before he found
Wily in the garage, lying face up and

him to try to wake him.
Jordan told investigators he’d
thought about calling 911, but did not
want to call the police on his brother.
After leaving the house for a few
days, Jordan said Wily’s body was al-
ready cut up and placed in the cooler
by the time he returned, and a few
days after that, Jordan said he took
the cooler to the scrap yard and placed
it outside the fence. -
“Jordan said he felt bad and did not
want to just dump the parts because
Derrick was his cousin and he did not
know what to do,” the Shelton Police
Department Nov. 23 incident report
said.
According to the report, Jordan re-
turned to the scene Nov. 22 to bury
Wily “the best he could.”
Jordan told investigators that Jar-
eau and Wily had gotten into a fight in
October that resulted in police being
called.
“Jareau said that Jordan never re-
ally dropped it and would always step
up for him when J areau thought Jor-
dan had backed down,” the Shelton
Police detective wrote. “Jordan said
that Jareau thought he had backed
down from Derrick and that Derrick
was being disrespectful.”
