Collision with semi
kills Shelton driver
An icy road is believed to have
contributed to a two—vehicle head-on
collision Dec. 1 between a semitractor-
trailer and a small car. The driver of
the small car was killed. .
Jami C. Hall, 51, of Shelton, was
the sole occupant of her car.
The collision occurred at the in-
tersection of West Shelton Matlock
and West Stoner roads at 9:24 a.m.,
according to Mason County Sheriff’s
Deputy Matt Colbenson.
The road remained blocked at
10:45 a.m. because the semitrailer '
had turned on its side and lost its load
of logs. Detours were in place while
the logs were cleared off the road and
the semitrailer was put back on its
wheels.
The final vehicle was removed
around 5:40 p.m., allowing‘West Shel—
ton Matlock Road to reopen to traffic.
The death of the driver prompted
Colbenson to emphasize the request
of the Sheriff’s Office that the public
not share images of such accidents on
social media so that next of kin can be
notified first.
