Donald D. Johnson William Case Buck
Donald D. Johnson of Seattle,
former resident of Shelton, died
in Seattle on December 5 as the
result of an auto-pedestrian
accident. He was 39 years old,
and employed at the time of his
death by Southgate Ford Agency
of Burien.
Born April 26, 1934 in Valley
City, North Dakota, he had lived
for many years in Shelton. He
helped to organize and was the
first president of Mason County
Recreation Association. He
helped to bring little league
baseball to Shelton.
Mr. Johnson was a member of
the Methodist Church, and held
membership in the Garage and
Automotive Employees Union of"
Seattle. He worked for Jim Pauley
Ford in Shelton from 1963 until
moving to Seattle in 1971.
Surviving him are a son, Greg,
of Shelton; four daughters, Cheri,
Lori and Lisa, 'all of Lacey, and
Gay Johnson of Shelton; his
mother, Mrs. Mildred Winscott of
Bremerton; and a brother, Bill
Johnson of Shelton

officiated at a funeral held at
1:30 p.m Monday in Mr. Olive
Lutheran Church lnurnment was
in Shelton Memorial Park.
William Case Buck of Union
died in Seattle on December 5 at
the age of 51 years.
Rosary was recited for him at 8
p.m. Friday in Washington
Memorial Funeral Home of
Seattle Requiem Mass was said at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at St.
Philomena Catholic Church of
Seattle with entombment in
Washington Memorial Park Eternal
Light Mausoleum.
Mr. Buck was born in Walla
Walla on July 22, 1922, and had
resided in Yakima before coming
to Seattle in 1950. He was an
embalmer and funeral director.
He was a member of BPOE
Lodge Number 287 of Walla Walla
and VFW Rainier Post No. 2289 of
Seattle. He was a U.S. Navy veteran
of World War I1.
Surviving Mr. Buck are his
wife, Catherine; two sons, William
Case I1 of Des Moines, Washington,
and Curtis S. Buck of Union; four
daughters, Mrs. Cathleen Lot| and
Miss Maureen Buck, both of
Union, and Mrs. Loralea Hildner
and Mrs. Shannon Martinson, both
of Des Moines, Washington; and
four grandchildren.
Mary D. Daniels
Mary (May) D Daniels of Port
Angeles, 85, died Sunday in Port
Angeles where she had lived for the
Sydney Whetham
Sidney P. Whetham, former
Shelton resident, died in Auburn,
Washington on December 3.
He was born July 25, 1899 in
lnnisfail, Alberta, Canada. He was
married to Serethe Butt in 1925
and came to Shelton in 1947,
where he was employed by
Rayonier, Inc.
Surviving Mr. Whetham are his
wife, of the home; four sons,
Peter of Algona, Washington,
Lionel of Kenai, Alaska, Wilfred
of Marysville and Norman, serving
with the US Marines in Japan;
four daughters, Ida Her|on of
Everett, Irene Arnold of Seattle,
and Elsie Doyle and Janet
Simmons, both of Sitka, Alaska; a
sister, Mrs. Roy (Edna)Oakes of
In nesfail; a brother, John
Whetham of Shelton; 22
grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held at I p.m.
last Thursday in Washington
Memorial Funeral Home, Seattle.

disappear into nothingness, but
you will remain forever. They will
become worn out like old clothes,
and some day you will fold them
up and replace them.

Beginning December 1,
Shelton area residents will be able
to order their postage stamps by
mail, Postmaster Charles W.
Conner said this week. The
service was established primarily
to benefit the elderly and others
confined to their residence, but
anyone is eligible to take
advantage of the "Stamps by
Mail" program.
Conner said a service fee of
40 cents will be charged for
handling, guarantee against loss
and two-way postage.
Shelton letter carriers will be
delivering order blanks to
residences where they think they
will be most useful, but the forms
will also be available at the post
office.

Patricia Stewart Va oma, in 1908 she was married
Mrs. Patricia Ann Stewart, 52, in Shelton to Ivyl Daniels, who
of Coronado California diedpreceded her in death in 1947. She
' was a member of the Baptist
November 21 in a Coronado
hospital. She was reared in
Shelton and had lived in
Coronado for the past 22 years.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by
her husband, William; two
daughters, Patricia Ann Stewart
of Chicago and Shari Stewart of
Coronado; her mother, Mrs.
Mable Johnson of Shelton.
Interment was in El Camino
Memorial Park, San Diego,
California.

Surviving Mrs. Daniels are a
son, Marion Daniels, of Nebraska; a
daughter, Mrs. Oren Lindberg of
Port Angeles; five grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren; six
great-great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Mrs. Grace Ross of Everett.
A service was held at I p.m.
Wednesday in Bats|one Funeral
