4-H NEWS,
Riders slate
benefit dance
Evergreen Riders 4-H Club has
scheduled a benefit dance to be
held from 9 p.m. to l a.m. on
December 22 in the Dayton Hall.
Kenny Knight and the Good Guys
will play.
A bake sale will be held at 10
a.m. on the same day at the
Penney Store. Horseshoes will
also be sold, and dance tickets
will be available.
The group met on December
5 with president Donna
Mikkelson presiding. Naomi
Wilson led the flag salute and the
4-H pledge.
Juli'e Olli gave a
demonstration on western attire
and its use in showing and in
games. A film was viewed.
Horseshoes were prepared on
Sunday at the Wilson home, and a
hayride was planned for January
12.

Busy Bees
plan party
Busy Bees 4-H Club plans a
Christmas party for Saturday.
New officers are president,
Rene Gate; vice-president, Tricia
Byrne; secretary, Shelli Trucksess:
treasurer, Kelly Byrne; reporter,
Theresa Wilson.
Thirteen members and three
leaders attended the November 17
meeting where projects were
discussed and members assigned
to certain project leaders.

Noel dinner
set by Legion
'Mr. and Mrs. James Grimes
are chairmen for the Fred B.
Wivell Post 31 American Legion
and Auxiliary Christmas dinner to
be served at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the
Memorial Hall. A social time will
begin at 6:30 p.m.
Immediate families are
welcome, and members should
bring toys, canned goods or a
donation for the Forty and Eight
and Journal Christmas basket.
Home canned goods are not
acceptable. Toys should be
gift-wrapped and marked to
determine whether for boy or for
girl, and to designate the age
group for which the item is
suited.

will hold its annual Eggnog Party
from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday
in the clubhouse.
Members are reminded that
guests are welcome and that
tickets may be purchased in

Hembroff agencies.

turned out for basketball and
track.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and
Sundays he plays city league and
church league basketball.
"1 don't have time for much
else," he admits.
His parents are Albert and
Marian LeGault. His brothers, Ed
and Ace, are Shelton High School
graduates and his sister, Marina, is
an SHS junior. The family lives
near Lost Lake, and the
household pet is an elkhound
named Dinky.
Jay LeGault was the first boy
to be born in McCleary ttospital,
and he arrived there on October
8, 1956. He has always attended
Shcllon schools, and has always
lived in the same area.
"My parents and grandparents
always lived there, too," he states.
"We're sort of permanent."
LeGault studies anthropology,
chemistry, civics and sociology.
He holds membership in S Club,
Spanish Club and Spades.
"! hope to play football in a
junior college," he declares, "and
go on to a four-year college. 1'11
study business law and business
administration and physical ed."
