before Judge Robert Doran
Friday morning on criminal
charges.
Ray L. Barrington, Shelton,
pleaded guilty to a charge of
delivery of a controlled substance.
He had previously pleaded not
guilty to the charge, but came
into court to change his plea.
His court-appointed attorney

the county jail on a work release
program and pay $150 into the
current expense fund of the
county.

Parking
tickets
now all $1
Drivers who get an overtime
parking ticket in Shelton will no
longer be able to get by for a
quarter if they hurry to the police
station immediately.
A parking meter mounted on
the counter near the dispatcher's
desk has been removed.
Parking tickets will now cost
$1 if paid within 24 hours after
beingissued.
The city commission this week
approved removal of the 25-cent
meter from the police department
after being told by Police Chief
Frank Rains and City Attorney B.
Franklin Heuston there was
nothing in the city ordinance
which would prevent the action.
The previous policy had been
that if a driver who got a ticket
came to the police station within
an hour after the ticket was issged
and put a quarter in the meter
there, that would take care of the
ticket.
The meter has been removed
and overtime parking tickets will
now cost $1.
