to Australia where they visited

Milton. There were no fuel
short'ages, but the 140-mile trip
took four hours.
Rudy and Betty found
Australia to be very beautiful in
the warm summer temperatures.
Jacaranda trees were blooming
profusely with purple blossoms.
Hibiscus were also in full bloom.
Many very tall, gracefully gangly
gum trees dotted the tenain and
colorful parrots, kookaburras and
magpies roosted in the trees.
When the temperature rose above
80 degrees, the chichardoes
started making a racket more
annoying than any bunch of
crickets.
During their three-week visit
with the kids, the Schwabs saw
many of the sights. They went up
to Mt. Kaierra which looks out
over Port Kembla. A day was
spent at the Taronga Zoo and on
another trip they rode the
hydrofoil across Sydney Harbor
