To what does Wilder attribute
his longevity?

Hoodsport
to shine with
holiday cheer
Amidst the fallout from the re-
cent storm, Hoodsport's holiday
spirit is alive and well. This is
what the Hoodsport Community
Events Association wants every-
one to know.
To demonstrate its point, the
association has planned the com-
munity's fourth annual tree light-
ing ceremony.
The festive event will begin at
4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December
15, at the old service station in
downtown Hoodsport.
Santa and his helpers will ar-
rive to officially light the tree near
the Hoodsport dock. Organizers
will serve popcorn, hot dogs and
cocoa free of charge. Santa will
give a wrapped present to every
child in attendance, while carolers
fill the air with Christmas spirit.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 1694 and its Ladies Auxiliary
will meet for a Christmas dinner.
The festive event will begin at 6:30
p.m. on Friday, December 21, at
Memorial Hall, located at Second
and Franklin streets in Shelton.
Those planning to attend can
bring desserts and salads to com-
plete the meal. There will also be
a gift exchange with a $5 limit.
Items should be marked for either
a male or female. Those planning
