Salty series author to
read from 1;tt est book
Les Eldridge will read from his
new novel, Gray Raiders, Green
Seas, at 2 p.m. oil Saturday, De-
cember 15, at the William G. Reed
Library, 710 West Alder Street in
Shelton.
Selections will be from his nau-
tical adventure of the Civil War,
"and the author will also discuss
the perils of writing. After the
talk, Eldridge will answer ques-
tions and sign books. The Friends
of the Library will provide refresh-
ments.
Gray Raiders is the second of
the author's "Sea Saga" series. The
book continues the adventures of
Confederate Navy Lieutenant
Rory Dunbrody and Union sailing
master Tobias St. John, who work
to maintain a friendship across
battle lines on the Chesapeake
Bay, the Carolina coast and the
high seas. The first book in his se-
ries is The Chesapeake Command.
Sage Book Store will have cop-
ies of the books for purchase. A
portion of the proceeds will be
donated to the Friends of the Wil-

Eldridge is retired from careers
in elective office, university ad-
ministration and dispute resolu-
tion. He lives on Puget Sound and
the island of Oahu.
