Grange sets

Christmas
Agate Grange 275 invites the
community to a Christmas pot-
luck this weekend. The community
meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. on
Saturday, December 15, at the Ag-
ate Grange Hall, located on Agate
Loop Road.
Members of the organization
will provide turkey, ham, dress-
ing, mashed potatoes and gravy,
along with coffee, tea and juice.
Community members planning to
attend are asked to bring a dish to
share. This will be a complimen-
tary meal.
Santa will also be present to
hand out goodies to all of the chil-
dren. Plus, the two winning tickets
for the Safeway gift certificate raf-
fle will be drawn at the community
potluck.
The last chance to purchase a
ticket will be at the dinner. Guests
are invited to bring a non-perish-
able food item or a new Christmas
gift for families. Gifts do not have

Prayers for peace
now in eighth year
A prayer vigil for peace in the Middle East will begin at noon on
Tuesday, December 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection
Street in Shelton.
The primary focus will be on Iraq, Israel and Palestine, the hope
being that the results of elections and peace negotiations in those
countries may bring lasting peace, with justice for all people within
internationally agreed upon borders.
All are welcome. The 18th of every month has been designated
by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as Washington's
day for special prayers.
This month begins the eighth year of the community Middle East
prayer vigil. Organizers said the vigil will continue on the 18th of
every month until peace is reached.

Grange sets
potluck for
Christmas
Agate Grange 275 invites the
community to a Christmas pot-
luck this weekend. The community
meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. on
Saturday, December 15, at the Ag-
ate Grange Hall, located on Agate
Loop Road.
Members of the organization
will provide turkey, ham, dress-
ing, mashed potatoes and gravy,
along with coffee, tea and juice.
Community members planning to
attend are asked to bring a dish to
share. This will be a complimen-
tary meal.
Santa will also be present to
hand out goodies to all of the chil-
dren. Plus, the two winning tickets
for the Safeway gift certificate raf-
fle will be drawn at the community
potluck.
The last chance to purchase a
ticket will be at the dinner. Guests
are invited to bring a non-perish-
able food item or a new Christmas
gift for families. Gifts do not have
to be wrapped.

Prayers for peace
now in eighth year
A prayer vigil for peace in the Middle East will begin at noon on
Tuesday, December 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection
Street in Shelton.
The primary focus will be on Iraq, Israel and Palestine, the hope
being that the results of elections and peace negotiations in those
countries may bring lasting peace, with justice for all people within
internationally agreed upon borders.
All are welcome. The 18th of every month has been designated
by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as Washington's
day for special prayers.
This month begins the eighth year of the community Middle East
prayer vigil. Organizers said the vigil will continue on the 18th of
every month until peace is reached.

1.31 at a cost of $1,420,000; im-

work on Matlock-Brady Road be-
tween milepoints 23.53 and 28.79
