In its last two matches before the new year, the
Shelton bowling team defeated Wilson but lost to
Timberline.
On Tuesday, Dec. 13, the Lady Highclimbers top-
pled Wilson 5-2 at West Side Lanes.
"They did a good job against Wilson." Curt Snyder,
head coach, said. "Mishawn and Danielle, the two top
bowlers, did well as did Brittany Smith, who had the
top game with a 212."
Smith's 212 game led game one
with Danielle Ewart bowling a 191
and Mishawn Ewart bowling a 188.
In game two. M. Ewart led with 185
while D. Ewart was one behind at
184 and Lindsey Cox bowled a 160.
"The JV team also bowled well
against Wilson but lost," Snyder
said. "We had some very good scores
on JV. They were really close and it
Brittany was fun to watch, especially Jessica
Smith Rowlett and Holly Hayman."
On Thursday, Dec. 15, Shel-
ton lost to Timberline at West Side
Lanes.
"I think the girls were really pumped up to bowl
against Timberline and my two top bowlers jus~ fell
down, which is really unusual," Snyder said.
D. Ewart bowled the lowest score with a 136 in
game one while M. Ewart bowled the lowest in game
two at 117. Caitlyn Borys picked up the pace to bowl a
187 and 154 while Cox scored 166 and 173 and Smith
"We're going to give it
a rest, recoup and after
break win out; that's our
p~ano"
scored 159 and 125.
Snyder said the Ewart sisters were too stressed
ou~ to bowl well.
"I'm looking at this match as a positive because
the next time we have a a really important match,
the they can use this as experience." he said.
The team has no games or practices scheduled
during the winter break.
"We're going to give it a rest, recoup and after
break win out; that's our plan," Snyder said.
The next match scheduled for the Lady Highclimb-
ers is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Chalet Bowl in
Tacoma against Stadium.
The team will then play at 3 p.m. on Thurday, Jan.
5 at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard against South Kit-
sap and will return home to West Side Lanes at 3 p.m.
on Tuesday, Jan. 10 to face off against Mt. Tahoma.
"Mt. Tahoma is the next one I'm really concerned
about," Snyder said. "If we beat them. I believe our
record will be the same and 1 think the tie breakers
would be in our favor."
Snyder said he wasn't positive about whether tie
breakers would be in Shelton's favor, since he hadn't
received the league statistics yet.
