Greeting Drawn by Scott Stidd 4th Grade, Evergreen School SPORT SHOP Farnum and Lillie Loitz Maxine and Lyle Russell The holidays are here . . . and a chance to thank you for your patronage and wish you the best that this happy season has to offer. Two way radio dispatched now 26-4446 for better service. T aa Greeting Drawn by Cynthia Korte, 6th Grade, Evergreen School II 128 S. First St. mil By CARMEN YATES ItARSTENE - On a typical wonderful wet Western Washington day last Oct. 22 the Anderson family, Andy, Jan and their three boys, Cuss, Bob, and Jeff snuggled cozily in their camper departed from Jarrell's Cove. Even the boys' school books and assignments and their very good intentions were tucked in the crevices and crannys of the family's camper which was to be their home on wheels for the next two months. Their first night out was spent at Andy's parents' home in Eugene, Oregon. They visited friends there also. By the third day just out Alturas, Calif., (N.E. corner of the state) they finally saw the first time on this trip. That night found the family enjoying dinner at a Casino in Reno. Then it was on to Las Vegas. The kids were really impressed with all the bright lights of this famous town. All very much enjoyed Lake Mead and especially Hoover Dam on their way to Phoenix, where Jan's folks live. Here they lucked out with an opportunity to spend a urns rom leisurely life. The next stop was at the border town of Nogales. Their first night across the border into Mexico was spent at Guaymas. Accommodations here not the best so they went on the next day to San Carlos. It was love at first sight and they made arrangements to spend a whole week practically on the beach! They all enjoyed t he ir ve r y first fresh shrimp dinner of the trip. Jan says they were literally inhaled. The whole week they practically lived on swimming, spear fishing and dined on those wonderful fresh shrimp. It was in San Carlos, also where the family celebrated Cass' birthday, Nov. 12. His folks couldn't locate too much in the local store, so delighted him by giving him 100 pesos to do his own shopping along the way. Then it was on to Mazatlan, a magnificent and very beautiful city. The name itself named by the pro-columbian Indians means, 'place of deer'. The city is outlined by beautiful white sandy beaches and fishing and swimming are enjoyed the year around, Mazantlan being located not far rip ro at Andy's folks in Eugene. The following day they accomplished the last leg of a long wonderful trip when they pulled into the Jarrell's Cove Marina just in time for a snack and to bed to dream beautiful happy dreams as the rain pattered on the roof reminding them in their sleep of splashing surf and warm white san d ! My Spirit rejoiced for the understanding of the Gospel! My heart overflowed with love for the One sent to me by the Lord... One to be chosen and ordained to become a Man of God, One who should stir the Souls of men to righteousness and good works, One I would be united to for time and eternity, One who could envision with me the wonders and glories of eternal values, One touched emotionally by the beauties of God's goodness, One who loved truly and deeply, One who with me would fashion beautiful, noble children. One who would beckon them toward perfection and eternal life, One with a loving and understanding heart, One who could find humor and joy in life, One who would stir us to greater accomplishments, One who would drink in knowledge, One who would hunger and thirst for righteousness, One who would desire the good things of life for his fellowmen, One who "cared" for his family, brothers and sisters, relatives, and all mankind... thankfulness unto the Lord. My Spirit rejoiced! My Soul overflowed with I love the Lord because He hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, Therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed men... I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech Thee, deliver my Soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous ; Yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and He helped me. Return unto thy rest, O my Soul; For the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou has delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living! Psalms 1 16. 1-9 With gratitude and love in our hearts, we give thanks to all who have shown us so many kindnesses. May the Lord's choicest blessings be upon you this Christmas time and always.
