I/Youth notwithstanding: IWet Set makes Oly work for it Youth still showing, the Climb- N. Tilson (O) 27.36, Nick McCaus- er chlorine boys nonetheless made it relatively close last week as they saw in the holidays with a 73-109 nonleague soiree with the Bears of Olympia. Shelton's inexperience was off- set by no fewer than nine person- ai records - one each by district veterans Tim Russell and Cole Phelan, another by veteran junior Nick McCausland, a pair apiece by newcomers Richard Price and Jon Ramsey and one each by the two first-year Climbers with extensive swim-club experience, Cass Hil- dreth and Max Crain. Junior Russell PROd his way to victory in the individual medley and added first-place points in the 100 free as well, while sophomore Phelan was second by way of a PR in the 200 free and earned the same runner-up points in the 500, where he wound up within just a few seconds of his personal record despite enduring a turnout regi- men of late that's designed to keep him in a state of near exhaustion - the better to maximize his physi- cal and emotional peak come dis- trict.
